Well, as far as 4chan is concerned, there were chants of 33 YEARS! 33 YEARS! after Dallas won game 5. Now there's chants of 66 YEARS! 66 YEARS!

I wouldn't feel nearly so bad about it if it wasn't for that one goal... Damn, normally I'd look at the 3-2 series count and take my hand away from the panic button, but that third Pens goal really, really felt like our equivalent of the Pens' blown 5-on-3.

Building on that, home teams that win games 1 and 2 of the SCF have gone 30-1 (the one exception being, I think, the 71 Habs). Most people here probably already know that one though.

I for one am going to follow my avatar pic's advice and go watch some MST3K to get my mind distracted from the facedesk-worthy result of the game, it always makes me feel better (I feel like all the characters are my friends... ;_.

Did Dallas think so too? Did they ***** incessantly when down 3-0 in the series? f***, Therrien whined about the same old same old when he team WON.

Can't think of that occurance specifically, but I believe the Oilers did win at least one game in OT being down 3-1 in 2006.

Aaaaaah, so now it's a matter of hypotheticals and what ifs. Get real. Babcock could have whined and stamped his feet in round one after the second Predators win but he didn't. I can't say I've *EVER* encountered an instance where Babcock has. Hell, I don't even think anyone on the Avalanches' roster did when they were dealt similar losses.

Honestly, I don't really care if Crosby wins the Conn Smythe. If the Wings close it out tonight (and given that the Penguins look and play like they're happy with their one win, I don't see why it won't be so) he's not going to get it anyway, but if worse comes to worse he can keep his consolation prize for all it matters, the trophy that's important is the Cup. Nobody remembers second place.

So cynical, tsk. I for one would do it in a heartbeat if I was anywhere near Detroit, let alone for the potential cash payout. About that though: How do we confirm who throws what octopus? Anyone could pipe up if it happens and say "Yeah, that was me". Having multiple throwers only makes things more complex. Hell, it could be someone who dosen't even frequent LGW and coincidentally thought it would be an equally good idea.
