Apparently the 'authentic' ones have double-stitching or something like that. The biggest noticeable difference I think is that for secondary patches they're a single-piece letherette kinda thing that's heat-printed and sewed on. Not much of a concern since the Wings don't have secondary logos, but it still looks like crap. Plus, if you're getting a SCF version jersey it'll be in that s***ty single-piece patch. There's also that big RBK patch on the front of the jersey if you get the EDGE, it isn't on the authentic jerseys. IMO I'd get a CCM jersey instead of either of those; they're a lot cheaper now and frankly the quality of the replica jerseys seems much higher.

We'll straighten you out, you little prick

Usually it's all available on CBC's video player, but the full game/post-game press isn't there. Maybe it'll be up later.
-
Are there any links to streams of the press interviews? I gotta hear these Crosby comments with my own ears
-
Malkin did the exact same thing in the 3rd, Don Cherry pointed it out in the post-game commentary. I think it was Zetterberg picking it up at the red line, Malkin was right there with him, and he glided over to the bench instead of making an effort to break up the rush. Led to a good scoring chance by the Wings, too.

Maybe THAT'S why he's going to be late for dinner

I'm embellishing, but it really is starting to turn me off from the league. The NHL seems to continuously promote the notion that unless you're south of the Mason-Dixie or constantly sucking Crosby's penis, it dosen't give a flying f***. If they're growing increasingly disinterested in my monetary/viewing contributions as someone north of the border, I'm growing increasingly disinterested in providing them.

I don't know what that statement makes me want to do more, put a bullet through my head or put one through Crosby's kneecaps. The last three seasons have just been feeling like one long constant ******** from the NHL to anyone who's been following the game since before the lockout.

Bouncing between Vancouver and Calgary, I beg to differ. The Flames' ticket prices have skyrocketed along with the cities economy, and it costs me about 120 bucks for an upper-bowl ticket at GM Place to watch the Canucks play the Wings.

Funny, among a lot of the trash talk I've heard from the Pens has been high hopes that Franzen's concussion symptoms will be 'forcefully reintroduced', not to mention calls for everything short of bloody murder to solve the problem of Holmstrom's net presence.

*facedesks* YOU WON THE GAME, THERRIEN! WHAT THE f*** MORE DO YOU WANT?!

Uh, so did the Bay Area, Minnesota, Colorado, Ohio, (lol) Atlanta... somehow bringing teams back into those areas wasn't some kind of impossible pipe dream because they 'blew it' a few decades ago. Winnipeg would work better than southern Ontario for geographical reasons. Hamilton or K/W would have to deal with a population already solidly in Leafs territory, plus the Sabres are within close proximity as well. A team there would have to pay additional expenditures to both of those teams for potentially lost revenues due to stealing their fanbase territory. Winnipeg has no nearby NHL contenders, ergo it dosen't need to spend more money on a franchise than necessary.

WGN and CSN report Chicago Blackhawks will host the Detroit Red Wings @ Wrigley Field on New Years Day 2009. Most likely reason is the NHL didn't want to pony the $200K for stadium upkeep for Yankee Stadium. An announcement could be as soon as Thursday. Tony Esposito, Bobby Hull, and Stan Makita are already scheduled to sing the 7th Inning Stretch on Friday @ Wrigley

That's right, people will instantly forget that Coke and Pepsi ever existed if they stopped making ads about them ad nauseum. It's beyond saturation as is FFS.

The WHL just keeps sounding more and more appealing...

My hometown is calgary. So yes. Very, very yes.

I'm wondering how a hockey rink would be arranged to a baseball stadium seating format, though. All the seating will be at strange angles to the ice. Having it at a football stadium seems like it would make more sense with the layout of the rink.

'That product' feels less and less like the NHL and more and more like the Pittsburgh Penguins. Great for them, not so great for everyone else trying to tell people that hey, there's more than one team in the NHL.
-
If the first two games were split and/or we lost at Pittsburgh anywhere near as badly as the Penguins lost at the Joe, I'd have cause for concern. As is, the Penguins still have to dig themselves out of a hole, and the Wings know that they only need to step up their game a little bit more to get the split at the Igloo. We're fine people, all these OH s*** WHY DID YOU f*** UP STUART/LILJA?! threads are asinine. This forum gets freaked out way too easily.
-
Wouldn't that make the media's chronic masturbation towards Crosby unnecessary, then?
-
Then you have a much stronger stomach than I do. Every time I'm force-fed that Gatorade ad I have half a mind to put a foot through the TV. I'd prefer obscurity of the game to having to see his catfish face plastered everywhere imaginable. It dosen't stand a chance in hell of competing with the NBA, NFL, or MLB anyway.
-
Oooooooh yes it is
-
Wait, so now we HATE Stuart? Jesus christ, this forum flip-flops faster than sandals on the beach.
-
Well, he made an error that cost Detroit game 5 against Dallas...
-
Given that I was expecting the first two games to be split, I'm not overly concerned about tonight's loss. Let's be rational here people, it's not like this was a mirror image of the first two games where we simply gave up after the first period. The Wings lost, but they made the Penguins battle hard for the win - ultimately a couple more bounces went their way instead of ours. It's unfortunate, but that's how hockey works. The Wings are more than capable of splitting the pair of games at the Igloo, they just need to get back into their defensive groove again. We also need to get our power play sorted out big time, Gill got a couple of stupid penalties and the Wings absolutely need to punish Pittsburgh for it.
