Why is it always the games I miss where the Wings play lights-out hockey?

The NHL *CAN'T* market itself any better (in the States, at least) because most people are simply incapable of actually watching the product the League is trying to market. If the NHL wants to REALLY follow the NFL's footsteps, it'd have taken a contract with a channel that isn't an obscure piece of s*** whose mere provider coverage is constantly in flux. People at the very least *have* and *watch* ESPN; even if the NHL would be obscured by other leagues, start with that and build off of it. Sticking with VS. is a terrible way for the League to get it's foot in the door - people simply don't have the door they're trying to stick their foot into.

Satan again comes to mind. He's not great but at the rate of our decently-long-term injuries I'd say he's worth pulling the trigger on, and if he gets picked up by someone when Williams/Filpulla/Franzen returns I wouldn't exactly be too heartbroken over it tbtphbpthbh, never mind, then.

Ugh, you just watch. half of our roster is going to be injured and somehow Lebda is going to get through the entire season injury-free. The Hockey Gods hate us.

For all this talk of 'the Monster' last night, he put his team in an early two-goal hole and barely allowed them to win it - against the only other team as bad as the Leafs are. Oz and Howard have done the same thing of course, but Gustavsson is rapidly becoming almost as overrated as Luongo is and he's only played what, seven games? TO has coughed up the first goal in games something like 13 of the last 14 games. If Oz and the defense just keep doing their thing from the last several games the Leafs will suffer for it. Also keep in mind that this is HHOF night and the headline inductee was a career Red Wing - the team should be absolutely pumped for this game.

I wouldn't say they're really playing out of their minds, honestly. In their last few games their SOG has been really weak, and Anderson was saved by a number of posts when we played them the last time. A lot of it has just been bounces going their way.

Just got back from the game. The PP *sucked* and we held back a bit too much in the 3rd, but Ozzie and the D played overall much better than they have earlier - maybe Babcock finally managed to get to them. Datsyuk was an absolutely monster tonight too, he deserved a lot more than the one assist. Also, some great costumes at the game tonight
