Dan Cleary Game 1 Status? (mod edit: Cleary to play)
shoe replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Free press reports the same Cleary and Babcock say he is playing. -
I like this because... Its good for travel Its good for waking up to go to work the next morning its good for hockey in general no better way to get Columbus fans into the game then to play a local team, same for 2 cali teams (local interest) I feel better going up against the jackets than the ducks just something about that team.

LOL pit hair on chicks YUCK if the leafs ever had a playoff run and the girls here did that rubber women flesh lights and natural blondes would be very popular in may and June for guys. Could be worse least the tradition isn't not changing your underwear.

Sweet been waiting for this deal to happen, now I'm going out to get a franzen jersey done up. Mr franzen hope you reward this team with a goal scorers playoff run.

Florida -especially at the end of the season kept hearing how great they were coached and the Jay Bowmeister thing now that its all said and done and what will they have to show for it? Colorado is another team that has turned into a real mess I know they had injuries but is anything going right over there?

All Those picking Datsyuk for MVP and knowing its a Crosby AO thing deep down inside... Would you settle for Datsyuk as the winner of The Lester B Pearson award? Basically thats MVP as voted by the players themselves, an award I think should carry more swaggar than it does.

Osgood says he is ready to lead the team in the playoffs

How can I take this article seriously when in the 1st paragraph they write this? -
for $500 0000 a year I hope he still gets to rock the sister in law in that deal!

http://www.640toronto.com/HostsandShows/Bi...ters/Audio.aspx Some of you Detroit guys might recocnise Greg Brady he used to do radio on a Detroit station

Hey kipper go to break or he will make you his girlfriend hahahahaha
-
and Bykov too, Im sure the KHL dosnt help either.
-
He showed the 1st period then I think he got bored of the game and started googling flyers fight videos, on comercials he was flipping chanels, good way to get frustrated is to watch this feed!
-
I was going to say the same thing maybe they are Taunting guys like Don Cherry who says alexander ovechkin celebrates too much. Now they cant pick on one player they will just say the whole team celebrates too much.
-
Downey should be up and mac too as the playoffs get closer teams play more intence with that comes the cheap shots and heavy hits. Having and enforcer around to protect the scoring tallent dosnt bother me last thing I want to see is a injury to a star from a cheap shot cause no one was around to keep the opposition honest.

The other night when ATDHE wasnt showing any hockey games I started thinking about trying the NHL stream it was $30 a month. I dont think I would pay $30 a month for a full season but I started thinking how to make that cheaper. The $30 a month covers all teams but i just want to watch wings games so I started to think they should do something like pay per game viewing that would be nice, then I wouldnt get pissed off when games were blacked out either. So I thought wouldnt an apple / NHL partnership be interesting. Apple right now sells movies TV shows and songs on itunes so why not a sporting event? Id pay a couple of bucks for games Id really like to see if it was done right. Oh and if anyone wants to try and say they dont have a mac... itunes works on windows machines as well but this isnt ment as an apple sales picth yahoo google who ever could do it as long as its done right.

I see you using the word free here a lot I have a curve to throw at you. Newspapers online are free, weather channel.com is free, tsn espn both cable channels but their online info is free. Free info with advertisements slapped all over the place banners pop ups ads up and down the side of the page kind of like what is on this sites page. So why cant online streaming work this way, we the viewers are gobbling up all those advertisements on the boards and Im sure the comercials too. Ive never seen a game on NHL centre ice or the NHL gameday live but I bet they have comercials someones getting paid and when you subscribe now your paying twice really. So why cant a game be "free"

I wonder if some of them feel like they may be part of a trade and not sleeping well? On top of the travel.
-
Maybe this would be a better after the trade deadlin thread but Im bored so... I was looking at the standings today and its likely that Detroit would finish 1 or 2 and in 7 / 8 it could be wide open. There are 5 points separating last from 8th. If I had to pick one team to face san joseinstead of us in the 1st round Id hope we could avoid playing Columbus in the 1st round hot rookie playoff goalies scare me especially with Detroits past.
-
Something big and unexpected something that might hurt when you 1st read it, but after we will be like yes!!! Eg Remember when fan Fav Ray Sheppard went to San Jose for Larionov many people were like what?

I find the post very interesting as well I think it could have potential for this reason, Holland loves to make a deal AND Lou Lamerello is a screwd GM (remember when he fired his coach that had them doing very well all season just before the playoffs). I could see Lou making a trade with Brodeur while his value is still high it makes good business sense, old for new. BUT !!!! Ive always seen Brodeur as one of those guys that would never be traded. I think NJ has a chance in the east this year, when they pick up a guy like Shanahan it says to me they are gearing up putting the peices into the puzzle trading away a world class starting goaltender to me is taking a big chunk of the puzzle out.

I have a theory about this that is related. Ever notice that players who deliver a good clean honest hard hit get jumped all over right after by the other team. Im wonering in the playoffs when giving up a power play oportunity can make or break a game that this whole you hit my guy ill slash/crosscheck/spear you back will go away and then Kronwall can give those big hits and not have to worry about some idiot retalliating. There is also the whole no real tough guy on the team to put fear into curbing retaliation from players on the recieving end of a big hit. Eg Kronwall nails Crosby with an open ice hit. Would Matt Cooke take a cheap shot at Kronwall if he knew Downey was on the bench?
-
Ive learned this especially when Yzerman retired and Shanahan signed in New York. As much as you hate them to leave, someone will fill their spot, and you will be just as happy when they score, hit, pass, make a save, what ever. I really like Hudler too and Franzen is my current fav player on this team, I hope Holland played lots of stuff as many people as you can into the car games when he was in school because we will need some creative thinking to keep these home grown talents. If we cant keep them then someone will be brought up or signed or traded for to do that. and we will probably watch their carers with interest because in our eyes we wont forget when they were red wings.
