Interesting point, I just bought myself a new 46" HD tv just before the playoffs and watching the games have been great. Maybe its not just an economic thing but a battle of "bringing the game to your living room" vs going to the game. Going to the game is great I can tell so many stories of the people the atmosphere the smells (good and bad) ect ect. But getting everyone together to watch the big game on the big screen is getting easier and easier to do. From a Torontonians perspective I really really miss going to the games at the old maple leaf gardens the new ACC dosnt compare its not the same game there, they said they would do it right but it dosnt feel like old time hockey to me feels more like a basketball stadium. I would hope if the Joe is replaced it would feel more old than new. Ive been to a game at the joe and I really like it you feel "there."

No one knows what he will be like how he will handle an 82 game season the travel and the smaller ice surface, we know he can skate and shoot but dont know much else. He also pointed out that the guy has never played for Team Sweeden in International hockey and wasnt chosen for this years team dispite having 25 sweedish players decline the offer. There must be some sort of tag on him maybe hes not a team guy I dont know will be interesting to see what happens next year with him though. I myself had a bit of a problem with this "new unheard of guy" just grabbing a roster spot, I think there is a line of young guys looking to make the team next year who have spent time in Grand rapids paying their dues learning the game and the system the wings play. On the plus side I also heard on the radio someone say "If the wings want him so should your team especially if he is european" and then explained how good our european scouting staff is at identifying these players.

In deffence to why we dont do it it could be this. There are many a fans who have jerseys some home colours some away colours, I myself have the current away coloured jersey and that is what i would want to wear to a game, If they called for a sea of red I might look kind of out of place in my lone white jersey but, that wouldnt be the case cause I know Im not the only guy who has a white jersey that would want to wear it and mess up a sea of red. On a side note in the past there was a game Im not sure who they played or what arena it was in but there was this red balloon that was bounced around in the crowd just about the whole game it made a few tv appearances i have a feeling it was vs Toronto back in the day. To add to ideas to whole whole pass out t shirts towels pom poms how about red or white curly haired clown wigs.

Is it just me or my TV? Im finding that I had to turn the volume up more than usual to hear the announcers both on TSN and NBC for Game 2. The on ice sounds are there so when the volume goes up to hear the announcers at a respectable level the skating, sound from the boards and puck contact go way beyond what I'd like to hear. Now I know what your saying why would you want to hear those guys anyway!
