To be honest there are probably more attractive options out there for a guy like Gus than to hang around and wait for a kid to take his job. If I were him and I was offered 2 or 3 years somewhere else id take it for job security. After watching Tampa in the playoffs I could see Yzerman offer him 2/3 year deal to back up Bishop even though Gustavsson is injury prone. Gustavsson could stay here if his swedish buddies have any sort of influence.

In the 1st round, i'll be cheating for the wings 1st and as far as Im concerned every other match up can go 7 games double and triple OT every game with suspensions injuries and what ever evilness can be associated with that. If I had to pick I'd like to see the Rangers, Jackets and Id really like to play the Canadiens and kick their ass all over the ice call up my french co worker and blow an air horn right into the phone every time the wings scored. Not sure about the west seems so distant now I'll be interested to see how Colorado does amongst all those giants out there. Dear Mr Legwand Welcome to Detroit. I cant speak for all of us but I am very happy you waived your no trade to join the Red Wings. Some people here may not understand how much we need you. With four of our regular centers injured you have some big skates to fill. As a Veteran of many years you should be able to jump right in there. Maybe more so than some young high flying European. I think you will do very well here, your brand of hockey that you have played for 15 years should fit with exactly what we will need to do to win games to get us in the playoffs. It may not be pretty but I'm sure Mike Babcock has a plan to shut down the opposition rather than outgun them. You may not be the defence man we thought we were all going to get this trade deadline, but a 2 way speedy center in my mind is the closest and next best thing. Your defensive skills I'm sure will be relied on to keep the puck out of our net in the dying seconds of the game something we have watched our red wings have much trouble with this year. I like players coaches even though they don't usually last long they do get a few good years out of their players after having a hard guy like Babcock I'd take a real likeable motivator Ted Nolan would be that guy.

very cool, I skimmed around the arena to see if I could spot anyone famous in the expensive seats, nobody popped out, just another bonus of being a part of this event adds to the bragging rights.

I had no idea the seating was going to be as tight as it was I mean people were practically climbing over each other to get down the rows. I dont think we will ever see something as "classic" as that game was though, the pictures that I have seen look incredible, being there in a sea of fans one half chanting LETS GO RED WINGS and right after Go Leafs GO, and then back to LETS GO RED WINGS, Go Leafs Go ect ect ect and when it died out not much longer it starts up again. Amazing Too bad people missed parts of the game trying to get food drinks and long washroom line ups. The scene at the mall parking lot after the game was ridiculous, I feel like they organized it so well to get everyone in there but getting home not so much thanks for your money good luck getting home see ya.
