Man, he pulverized that poor sap.

Thanks for the CBC link. It has much better coverage of the entire situation than the VS video had.

"if Malone had been called on knocking the stick out of Liljas hands" it would be 5 on 4 instead of 6 on 4 (with pitt's goalie pulled). This poll should include a maybe

"The national media" is essentially a bunch of cynical critics.

Datsyuk's got a considerably higher amount of giveaways than the others mentioned on that list. I wonder if that's something he's setting his eyes on improving this season.

Article A bit longer and more involved than other articles I've read about him.

He also made some great plays including, but not limited to, setting up the game 4 winner by tipping a bouncing puck to Hudler. For the most part, he made up for his mistakes.

That is one of the most boring play-by-play calls I've ever heard for such an exciting, dramatic moment. "The shot. Went wide. And the game is over." Pardon me if I'm not getting chills.

As an addendum to my first post in this thread, I think Dirty Bastard might be my favorite beer I've tried (thought I haven't had many chances to try a bunch). The flavor and aftertaste go perfectly with a smoke. Also, Magic Hat Circus Boy is pretty good for a lighter variety.

My brother called me on the phone immediately after this little scrum. He wanted to make sure I was watching Datsyuk throwing punches.

Everything by The Black Keys. My favorite album of theirs is either The Big Come Up or Thickfreakness. Nadal has improved significantly in the last year or two. I remember watching the Australian Open in 2007 and he was basically dominated by Federer in the final. Since that time, he's continuously improved (he doesn't even need to improve on clay, no one seems close). He gave Federer a strong run for his money at Wimbledon in 2007. I think Federer has a great chance to win the US Open, though. Nadal doesn't perform nearly as well there historically as on other surfaces. I really like watching Federer play, but Nadal had an answer to nearly every shot Federer tried to make in the 2008 Wimbledon final. Nadal constantly forced Federer to make mistakes by making him take risks. Federer seemed to only get points when his risk-taking paid off, or if he aced. I disagree with a post early in the thread that said Federer seemed arrogant. I think he's quite gracious, and he comes off as such in interviews. Any time he makes a comment about being a great tennis player or one of the best, he has plenty of evidence to back it up. He also respects his competitors, even low-ranked players. That match against Tipsarevic is proof of that. I've also seen a video of him in his hotel room, talking to an interviewer about how he scouts his opponents, regardless of their world ranking. Even this year, 2 of 3 of Federer's losses in Grand Slam events were to a younger (and finally healthier) Nadal. It will be interesting to see how long Nadal's career will last. He's had numerous injuries to his knees, and one of the major strengths of his game is to run for the duration of matches, even 5 hour marathons. If he can't keep that part of his game up, he'll either have to improve his shot-making ability (which has gotten much stronger in the past year or so) or he will be set up for disappointment.

At least the guy in the video knows the Western Conference dominates the East.

Do the Recent Signings get Butts in the Seats this Year?
David replied to Firehawk's topic in General
I'm going to a game for the first time ever next season. It has nothing to do with winning the cup/free agent signings. 21 years as a fan and my brother is finally treating me to a game -
Yea, that's why I asked ZDH have great chemistry and work perfectly as a line. Holmstrom clears up so much space on the ice, retrieves pucks, and always goes to the net.
-
On a serious note, which line will he play on?

Holy s***!

Anything by Elliott Smith might as well be musical gold.

"Everybody was raving about the Sedin twins," Andersson said. "We were a couple of scouts standing around the coach, and we said, 'Oh, are they ever good, those twins.' And he said, 'You know what, guys? My best player so far in the camp here has been Zetterberg. He's even outplayed the twins.' " Andersson was pleased. "We had drafted him the summer before." I liked that quote most, myself
