    Cap/Pens back to back games

I was just looking over the schedule and noticed that the Caps and Pens are playing tonight and Saturday night - I know this happens often enough in the regular season but I thought the teams got at least a day break in the playoffs. Here is the link to the schedule http://www.nhl.com/ice/schedulebyweek.htm?navid=NAV|SCH|Main

Game 1 Meetup for Chicago Wings Fans

This sounds better than watching the game at Tin Lizzie!!!! It used to be a good time when they gave away free beer for every puck successfully shot in the net during halftime. Avenue Tavern is a great bar and just down the street! GO WINGS!

Red Wings Round 1 only on TSN?

I just called Comcast to see about getting TSN and no luck, they don't carry it. Does this mean that I will not be able to watch these games? I have center ice, but with Comcast - hopefully some of the Detroit bars in Chicago will pick it up?!

4/2 GDT: Blues 5 at Red Wings 4

I was at the Blues/Hawks game last night and it was hard to sit there and watch - I ended up leaving after the second. The blues didn't have a shot on goal for over 20 min - 3 shots in the first and 4 in the second - they even went shotless on a four min powerplay! Chicago was not much better, but managed to get the puck in the net. I thought it would be a great game considering their position, but I guess they failed to get the memo that they need to win! IF SL puts forth the effort they did last night this one should be a lock. Looking forward to watching the wings put in a full team effort and walking away with the win!

    TSN Power Rankings

I know this doesn't matter one bit, however it irks me. TSN just came out with this week's NHL power rankings and Detroit is ranked 4th again with a 7-2-1 ten game record. San Jose is 1 with a 4-5-1 and Boston 3 with 4-5-1 ten game record - with the exception of the Devils, how does this make any sense? Not even to mention the fact that Detroit sit atop the NHL with the most points....

    1/17 GDT: Sharks 6, Red Wings 5

    1/10 GDT: Red Wings 3, Sabres 1

this was taken from a Buffalo Sabers Forum: "Something to watch today: the roads in Detroit are horrid and they will have almost a foot of snow by game time. None of the detroit players live anywhere near the arena (most live 30-45 minutes away) and detroit doesn't get major snowfall that often, so it could be a major distraction for them. If Buffalo comes out hard, they might catch detroit off guard." anyway - I had a chuckle reading it, thought I would share GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!

12/20 GDT: Kings, 4 at Red Wings, 6

    Winter Classic Ticket announcment

FYI ... The National Hockey League will soon be releasing information regarding the public sale of tickets for the 2009 Winter Classic. As a full season ticketholder with the Chicago Blackhawks, we are pleased to provide you with information detailing your ability to purchase tickets prior to the public release. Your priority to purchase is based on season ticket status as well as your seat location. Renewing season ticketholders will have the first opportunity to make a purchase. Our current records indicate that you are a new 300 Level account. All new 300 Level accounts will have access to the on-sale beginning November 12th at noon. Your opportunity to purchase tickets will continue through 5 pm on Thursday, November 13th. In the case that you would like to take advantage of the great benefit of purchasing tickets for this historic Chicago sporting event, we encourage you to review the following information carefully. When may I purchase my tickets? As mentioned above, tickets are being made available based upon your status as a renewing or new season ticketholder for the 2008-2009 season, and your current seat location at the United Center. The NHL has provided enough tickets for all Chicago Blackhawks season ticketholders to purchase tickets, but ticket availability is limited by specific price level. You will only have the opportunity for one transaction. If you do not purchase your total allotment of tickets, you will forfeit any un-purchased tickets once your transaction is complete. How many tickets may I purchase? Customers with full season packages for the Chicago Blackhawks will be able to purchase up to the same number of Winter Classic tickets as the number of full season ticket seats they have for United Center games. You will only have the opportunity for one transaction. If you do not purchase your total allotment of tickets, you will forfeit any un-purchased tickets once your transaction is complete. What tickets will be offered to me? As opposed to pre-assigned seat locations, the Blackhawks are pleased to have arranged for season ticketholders to select from three different price options. Although seat availability is limited by price level, there are enough tickets for all current season ticketholders to have the option to purchase a seat at one of the price levels. You will be permitted to select your price option. Seat location will then be based upon the best available seats at that price level. Selecting a specific seat location is not possible. How much will tickets cost and where are the seats located? Any seat will provide the excitement of being part of Chicago sports history. Blackhawks season ticketholders will have the option to purchase tickets at the $75, $225 and $325 price levels.

    Winter Classic Ticket announcment

I have been to a few different rooftops to see the Cubs play and in my opinion the best is the one called the Lakeview Baseball Club here is their website: http://www.lakeviewbaseballclub.com/ you can see pretty well and they also have many tv's throughout the outdoor space as well as indoors. You would have to check with each individual rooftop to see what they are offering for prices. here is a link to the newest rooftop - it is pretty nice http://www.wrigleyfieldrooftopclub.com/?gc...CFSMeDQodMnDFKw both of these places are located on Sheffield which is on the right field side of the park.

    Winter Classic Ticket announcment

I was told that they are going to set up an infield that will not go on sale to season ticket holders or the general public. I am surprised by the setup as well and now have no idea where to buy my tickets. For those that are interested in going to the game and are unable to get tickets the RoofTops surrounding Wrigely are selling seats - you have the option to watch inside or outside and it includes an all you can drink and eat package... I recently saw one on craigslist.org for $350 a ticket...

Still no announcement about Winter Classic Tickets

I bought season tickets for the Blackhawks this year in order to secure tickets the Winter Classic. I Just spoke with my ticket broker and he said the NHL wants to get the tickets out by early November. I am not sure where my seats will be or how much they will sell them to season ticket holders but I am very excited! Here is an article in the Chicago Tribune today regarding the tickets: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/hocke...0,5616587.story

    Winter Classic Ticket Questions

As a transplant from Detroit to Chicago the only way to guarantee my attendance to the Winter Classic was to go ahead and buy season tickets to the Blackhawks. I have already sold many of the tickets to help pay for the season ticket price. The cheapest season ticket is $660 a seat, however I am unsure if this option is still available. After talking to the Blackhawks season ticket people it seems as though many people have gone this route to secure their tickets. I have not been notified about the cost of the Winter Classic tickets or where my seats will be, but speculation puts the tickets somewhere between $150-$300 for season ticket holders. Many of the tickets to the Blackhawks are already sold out as they are expecting a great team - we'll see... I don't expect to have too many problems unloading my tickets as they are great seats at a fair price. It also seems that there will not be many tickets available to the general public after the NHL finishes doling them out to season ticket holders and the NHL.

    Lord Stanley's Summer Tour 2008

Here is a pic of Hank with the Cup at Cheli's. Side note: A friend in Detroit that sent me this pic told me that Lebda dropped it at Chelli"s the other night and they had to have it repaired. Not sure if this is fact, anyone know?
