I don't think he has a problem with Swedish anchor babies either, but like I said it's hard to know for sure. I mean, was he being sarcastic when stating that he's a small business owner and would have a problem if his employees went to work for someone else for two weeks? Was he sarcastically mad when claiming that Pavel was sitting out games with the Wings so he could rest up to play for team Putin? Anchor babies seem like something that would upset someone if they had the aforementioned views. If it really was all a joke, then I guess he got me...sure didn't seem like it at the time though I won't derail this any further, though I guess anchor babies isn't totally off topic. Does anybody know if Hank and Emma have become U.S. Citizens yet? I'm guessing the kid will get dual citizenship. Is that what the Lidstroms' kids did? Or Yzerman's? I know Stevie became a U.S. Citizen and if his kids were born on U.S territory then they'd automatically get citizenship.

I would normally agree with you. But from past interactions with Playmaker, I wouldn't be so sure. He did accusing Pavel of playing for "Team Putin" during the Olympics...
-
Why would they draft a guy 7th overall knowing that he probably wont ever play for them?
-
I knew he didnt have any kids, which is why it was weird.

No it was like only a few months ago so she was obviously pregnant at the time. It might have just been a translation error that changed it to 'son'
-
Didn't he thank his son for something not too long ago? I seem to remember hear that.

So Lidstrom wasn't actually an author of the paper, but his part in the research was so valuable that they gave him like an honorary authorship. Here's two articles: http://phys.org/news/2015-05-game-intelligence.html http://www.freep.com/story/sports/nhl/red-wings/2015/05/21/red-wings-lidstrom-scientific-paper/27721325/ And here's the actual paper: http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0125453

WCF : (3) Chicago Blackhawks vs. (1) Anaheim Ducks
roboturner replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Anybody know what rule says you can't head it in like that? I hate the hawks but I don't see why that should be illegal. Edit: Rule 38.4 (iv): Puck directed or batted into the net by a hand or foot or deliberately batted with any part of the attacking player’s body. -
Yeah, guys that were pretty much only fighters just didn't have a spot left roster and cap wise. Guys like McCarty who would fight, but also contributed offensively just seem so few and far between now days. I know I don't watch alot of other teams but I can't really think of anybody.
-
I think the reason was that they wanted the home team fans to see the home team colors. But I think the other way was better. You already know you're own teams colors so every home game you would get to see a different color come in. Like how most or all MLB teams home jersey's have the team logos on them, but when they are on the road the jersey's have their home city written on it. But then again I like how NFL's home team wears the colors, but that might just be cuz I'm a packers fan and the green jersey feels a little more 'home' because it matches the super green grass at NFL stadiums. It always seems weird when they wear the whites or the blue throwback at Lambeau

Yeah I got that, But in order to cash in on that value, you have to actually be willing to let go of the player. Like I guess what I'm saying is, Crosby has enormous trade value. But if you are unwilling to actually trade him, his trade value is effectively zero. It only becomes actual value when you are willing to sell it. Does that make sense? haha
-
Would you enlighten us as to what is not being comprehend? We're just going off of what you wrote. Here, I'll quote it for you again. If your point isn't trading Mrazek over Howard, what is it?? And what do Pavel and Hank have to do with it? Is it because you mentioned potentially trading them right before mentioning trading Mrazek? You're right, they have trade value. But no one is stupid enough to think they would actually get traded. That's why no one is upset about it. Again, what exactly is being uncomprehend from what you wrote?
-
Yeah it's really not the same situation. Howie (should) still have a solid 5-6 years left with a few more after that winding down, whereas Ozzie was already winding down. In regards to the timing of when he gets traded (is there really any doubt left that its going to happen at some point now?), there are pros and cons to whatever ends up happening. If we kept him for another season or two, I think it would be a great luxury to have two good goalies at the same in making a run at the cup. On the other hand, if we could actually get someone that would make an immediate impact (i.e. not a draft pick or similar), it would be worth a shot to make a trade sooner. That entails assessing Mrazek on a smaller sample size, but that's the risk you take. And I really believe that there has to be some kind of risk taken to try and get better, because always taking the safe move can be the wrong move in the end.
-
I'm guessing they will split time next season. The thing is though, one of them is going to have to be the #1. Splitting back-to-backs is obvious but between those do you really want to be alternating goalies every other game (or every two games or every week or however you end up doing it)? Especially since they have such different styles that the team around them would have to adjust to each time they switch. Not saying it's impossible to do, but in my opinion having a consistent goalie (by which I mean just having the same guy there) who you get in a rhythm playing with would be best.

gdt ECQF Game 6 GDT : Lightning 5 at Red Wings 2 - Series Tied 3-3

Yeah, thats why I said "with hindsight" -

Not trying to start s*** and I am indeed enjoying the playoff experience. Just think it's funny in hindsight that people were actually saying that. Well i guess if two shutouts is equal to jack squat that statement would be accurate. The series isn't over, but I wasn't expecting anything these playoffs so I'm looking at a 3-2 series lead and two shutouts of the best offensive team in the league pretty optimistically. Sorry... -

But but but....Mrazek doesn't have any playoff experience! -
ECQF Game 5 GDT : Red Wings 4, at Lightning 0 (DET leads series, 3-2)

So you're saying a post on an internet message board didn't affect what happened in a hockey game in Tampa? On that note...WOOO MRAZEK WITH ANOTHER SHUTOUT!!!!! -
Apparently Mrazek is practicing in the starter's net. EDIT: It's official: https://twitter.com/AnsarKhanMLive/status/587660127588716544

How's Mrazek looking? -
S'matter Yzerman, afraid of the jersey you wore for so long?
roboturner replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
What makes you think a general manager would have veto power over a teams ticket sales? -
No one is saying that they hope the wings lose or that they are going to support Tampa just because they have a better chance.
-
The goal of a prediction isn't to be overly optimistic. The goal of a prediction is to be right about the outcome. I'm not saying the Wings can't pull this off, because I think they can. But given the teams recent struggles, the most probable outcome is that the Wings lose the series.

All the writers who watched practice already knew it was Petr from which net he was in. No point in trying to keep it a secret after that.
