St James tweeted that she asked to speak with him and Wings PR people told her he had already left the building. It probably is better to go vent and collect your thoughts someplace else. I don't blame him for being pissed.

Some comments from Babs. Source: http://kuklaskorner.com/tmr/comments/post-practice-articles-mrazek-starts-marchenko-and-ferraro-are-in-abdelkade Jimmy doesn't seem to be handling it too well.

S'matter Yzerman, afraid of the jersey you wore for so long?

I don't think he has any say in the matter. -
HA oh man that pic! Howie has nobody to blame but himself. He just hasn't been able to get it done. That said I don't mind both of them getting some starts in the playoffs.

I feel like I have to publicly dissociate from fanboy because he's making mrazek supporters look bad.

Opinion: Petr Mrazek should be starting Game 1

Babs supposedly has already decided who will start game 1 and he will announce tomorrow. I really have no idea who it should be. Could go either way. -
43-25-14......3rd seed in Division. Success or Failure?

Well, the young guys did great last year, but you never know how that is going to carry over to the next season. The term 'sophomore slump' isn't thrown around for no reason. It's quite a common occurrence. In addition to that uncertainty was Howard. He had a really poor outing last season, and there was no knowing how he was going to respond. Add in the defensive problems this team has had for a while now and it's not really hard to see why it may have been in doubt. It's OK to give an honest assessment of the situation as it stood at that time. Situations change, and with that assessments and opinions should change with new information. There is no reason to continue to hold a position solely because that is what you previously thought about it -

Oh Oh Oh Its Mrazek

God I hope the Pens lose.

Why? I didn't mention them at all. It was just a general example. It could apply to them, but that's the nature of making a general comment.

Why is it comical? I don't think it's unreasonable that people want to discuss what went wrong when things go bad. When things are good there is no reason to discuss at length what is going good. But when thing aren't good, you have more to discuss. It'd be the same for almost any situation where there is a good outcome and a bad one. Think about like Apollo 13. When everything was going good there was just regular discussions. But when things went bad then a TON of people came together to discuss the problems. That's just how it is with anything.

Well, I thought my posts in the other thread were on topic (read: about the game) considering the game was the one that got us in the playoffs, and I was addressing how we got in the playoffs. Then they get deleted for being off-topic, but really, where would have been a good place to discuss it? I did consider starting a new thread, but...well I guess I'll just say it's probably better that I wasn't the one to start it. Anyway, I certainly think that fans have the right to be negative. Along the lines of what Jesusberg was saying, of course people are going to be reactionary in the moment. I doubt anybody would have a problem with someone being reactionary after something positive happens, but for some reason the 'sky is falling' or 'x player sucks' posts in the same situation are frowned upon. Posts in those situations (positive or negative) should be taken with a grain of salt. And I guess I'll say this here too. In the context of making a prediction about the outcome of a game, I don't understand why people get so bent out of shape about someone predicting a loss. The point of a prediction, after all, is not to be unreasonably optimistic. The point is to be right about the outcome. If the team has been playing poorly, it isn't a stretch by any means to expect it to continue until given a reason otherwise. And along those lines, I don't see the point to posts along the lines of "Well I know he's not playing great right now, but I'm going to blindly support him through it so when he finally does come through I can say 'I never lost faith in you'" And I'm not saying you shouldn't hope that they bounce back, I think everybody hopes they do. But it seems more about telling all the "Haters" that you were right and they were wrong, when in fact the "haters" were just giving an honest assessment of the situation as it stood at that time. I guess what I'm trying to say is when a player or team is performing poorly, there isn't anything wrong with saying so.

Opinion: Petr Mrazek should be starting Game 1

Babs says he is going to have a beer and decide who starts the last game... Is there any chance he goes with Mrazek in the playoffs? The two main differences between Petr and Jimmy right now seem to be puck-handling (in favor of petr) and experience (in favor of jimmy). It was nice to see Jimmy playing so well the other night and in the shootout. He seemed to be getting his confidence back, and just in time. I thought he would have been the obvious choice. But now, who knows. If the knock against Petr is a lack of experience, well, there is only one way to change that. And I think his puck-handling would be a huge asset in the playoffs. -

Well I'm honored to be basking in your omnipotent knowledge of the game What is it with you guys? I agree that playing the game can help people learn and understand it and it probably is the best way to do it. But it's not unimaginable that somebody could learn and understand it from watching it. In fact, professional athletes do this as well all the time. It's called film study! You don't have to have played past Juniors to know bad positioning or poor outlet passes or tipped goals ect...Get over yourselves. -

Guys, I understand the sentiment that you're trying to get across. I really do. And I love the playoff streak, it's an extremely impressive feat. But... When the term "backing into the playoffs" is used, it's not so much that it's just upsetting that this is how they got in; It's that this is not the time of year to be having the problems that this team is having. There is no time to 'fix' it. Poor breakouts, bad passing, inopportune giveaways, defensive breakdowns, soft goals, bench penalties, and just plain old not winning games. You might think momentum is bogus (and I might agree depending on the extent), but I have an extremely hard time imagining that these problems are just going to take care of themselves in a situation where you are only going to be playing against the better half of the league. And if that's what you are hoping is going to happen due to some magical 'blank slate', then you're probably going to be disappointed (as will everyone else). The Wings have been in the de facto playoffs for the past few weeks. They've managed to get by with a few wins, a few overtime points, and a number of losses; But it was mainly the points they had already amassed that got them in. Because if they had to start from a 'clean slate' a month ago, they'd be on the outside looking in by now. It's not about being pessimistic or optimistic or making a warm and fuzzy prediction (which isn't actually a prediction, at that point it's just wishful thinking), It's about taking an honest look at the situation, and making an honest assessment. Hey, I'd love for them to flip the switch and make a run, and for most of the season that looked like a possibility. And if it happens, GREAT!!! But if not, I won't be surprised (due to the aforementioned issues) -

You are so ******* annoying. How you managed to take somebody saying '6 years' and turn it into 'the past 5 weeks' is beyond me. -

I really don't think it's too much to ask that somebody just LOOK before (or during) they shoot. I also don't think it's too much to ask that an NHLer know that the lane they are shooting through is slightly different than the lane they see (due to the puck being shot or passed from the blade, which is maybe a foot or two off-center from what they see with their eyes) -
