I know we've all ragged on Cleary (and with good reason), but this might be his last NHL game. I'm guess he gives everything he's got.

I know you're just saying this s*** because some of us were saying it about Howard. Sure, Petr didn't get us the extra point though Hammond got it for his team. I agree. But Howard had only stopped 3 of like 15 shots and was at one point 0-7 in the shootout.

I guess your just a glass half empty kinda guy... We don't get any points in that game with Petr's performance. (and yes there were a number of games where Howard stole a point for us.)

Your right, we don't know how he would have played. But I don't think him pitching a shutout is a good starting place for a guess.

Well, this may well be his last NHL game. He knows that. Gonna give all he's got. Don't really mind Babs giving him one more game given our current injuries.

You understand that you can't say that anybody has an anti-Howard agenda without implying they have a bias right? It's relevant. Get over it.

Would you like the Gretzky example again? Ok, here it is. Wayne Gretzky's parents probably thought he was the best player on whatever team he was on. Most parents might have a tendency to think their kid is the best player on the team. That's a bias. It's still a bias if Gretzky's parents think that he's the best due to him being their child. But in their case, he really was the best player on the team. Their bias did not mean what they thought about Wayne being the best player was wrong. Got it? It still is about hockey goalies, but I'm using an analogy to make my point about biases in regards to people's opinions of the Red Wings Goalies. People have biases in favor of Mrazek. People have biases in favor of Howie. People have biases against Mrazek, People have biases against Howie. People having biases doesn't necessitate that what they are saying is wrong. PM me why the analogy doesn't work if you don't want to say it here. And I'm not talking about biases within science right now. There are biases outside of science. I don't know why you're so hung up on that.

It doesn't matter if a bias is in regards to a science experiment or not. A bias is a bias and it doesn't necessitate that a statement claimed with a bias isn't true. I even gave you another example about using Wayne Gretzky instead of the acceleration due to gravity. Like I said, you don't understand the concept of analogies.

I'm not making anything up. That's exactly what happened when I tried to explain to you, using a simile, how having a bias doesn't automatically distort the truth of something. And he's doing about the same as Howie, a consistent hit or miss.

Don't bother man, he doesn't understand the concept of using similes and analogies to make a point about what was being discussed. Then, to avoid having to admit being wrong, he'll just claim you're not addressing the topic because of said use of similes and analogies.

I don't give a s*** where you went to school. I just think it's idiotic to suggest that fans have to have played past Juniors to 'know' the game. And that's really not how that works. Why would I hate Mrazek? Is he going to suddenly lose his swagger and puck-handling abilities? Ok, if BOTH of those things happen AND he plays like Howard has been playing AND we have an up and coming goalie prospect who could give us a better chance at winning games....then I'll 'hate' him. All four of those things have to happen and they have to be happening at the same time. But hey, what do I know? I'm not an expert who made it past Juniors.

Uhh no it does't. It can distort you're opinion of the truth, but even then it doesn't necessitate distortion of the truth. If I really want a dropped pen to accelerate to the ground at 9.8 m/s2, sure that's biased because Its what I want to happen. If I actually drop a pen and it does accelerate to the ground at 9.8 m/s2, it doesn't matter what my bias was because it was what actually happened! If it didn't accelerate to the ground at that rate, but I said it does anyway, thats distorting the truth. Nice try with you're "source" though. Better luck next time.

After the first couple games? You think I didn't give him a chance? 5 seasons aren't enough? My god that thread....you guys need to let it go. It meant as a joking way of showing how horrible his passing was/is. 2 games into the season he had a horrible pass come back as a goal similar to the one the happened in the playoffs. No I don't like Howard as our goalie. It has to due with his playing style and his puck handling skills. That's it. If the team wins with him anyway, I'm happy! It's Great! I'm not anti-Howard. I don't care about being right 'all along'. I care about being right right now. If new information comes along and changes the situation, then I change my opinion so as to make a better decision. I think you're projecting quite a bit, because from what I can see from all the Howie apologists is that they hate it when he starts playing poorly because they've felt the need to swoop in and defend him and now in the current moment they don't want to have been wrong 'all along'. Well, they weren't wrong all along, but being stubborn just because something used to work is going to lead to poor opinions and decisions.

AFTER that yeah... And I didn't have a problem with him then and went out of my way to say how well he was doing! Didn't you read my spiel about changing opinions with changing situations?
