Overplayed? It wasn't so much that as it was that atrocious pass, which led to him being out of position and letting in an absolutely demoralizing goal after we (including him! ) had stolen game 1 of that series. Edit: That was game 2 right? And that goal was the first of the game, pretty early on (less than 10 min in) if I recall.

HA! and I suppose you're the expert who got past Juniors?? What would that have to do with anything? As if I have to be an expert who got past Juniors to know that this is not good! HA!

THERE IT IS!!!!

I heard about him being sick, but it kinda seemed to come at an opportune time to save face... And some of the goals he let in were pretty bad. Remember after Petr played a few games and Howie was all like "I like how he plays the puck, like he just does it," and then he went out in the playoffs and tried to play the puck. He fired a laser of a 'pass' at some, which hit them almost at the knees, and then that kid from Marquette scored his first playoff goal (first ever goal?) because Howie had come so far out of position to play it.

Well, I can't speak for LW. But it seemed there was so much vitriol towards people like myself who were willing to just point out the fact that Howard was having a bad season a year ago. I know Howard being the goalie gets a lot of unfair blame, but it seems like people go overboard in the opposite direction to defend him. Of course people are going to point out how badly he's been struggling lately. Nobody throws these kinds of fits when people 'gang up' on Ericsson or Cleary or Anderson. This overprotectivness of Howie just because of his position is just ridiculous. Last year I was indeed saying we should get Petr going If Howard continued to struggle like he did last season. He had a great 1st half of the season, and I really did go out of my way to come here and say so on multiple occasions. I still didn't like his playing style and preferred Mrazek's (especially with his puck-handling), but Howard wasn't costing us any games or being mentally soft. If he was still playing like that I wouldn't have a problem with him playing. But he isn't. Do you really think people would be more upset that we won the cup with Howie than admiting on an online message board that they were 'wrong'? And I'm sorry to have to put wrong in quotations, but is it really wrong to point out the truth of a situation? If I told someone last year that I was 25 years old, even though I'm not anymore, I wouldn't have been 'wrong' because it was the truth when it was said. Situations change, and when they do opinions (should) change with them. Did Howie have a bad year last season? Yeah. Was he having a great year this year? Yeah. Is he still playing well? No. It really is that easy. I'd love for a deep playoff run. I don't care who is in net (or who is playing D, or who is on what line for that matter) as long as it happens.

HI! Now the the hockey game is over, I just wanted to interrupt my travel plans, pull my car over so I could stop by letsgowings and say that it looks like Howie finally pulled his head out of his ass and game the team a shutout!

Alright, that sounds awesome. But seeing has how the 31 year old Howie still has trouble learning the skill of puck-handling, I'm not too optimistic in his ablitity to overhaul/adjust to this system on the fly (if he were in fact to try and learn it, that is) And of course they work on thing during their career. I remember playing baseball when I was like 11. I wasn't bad to start the year, but after a while I just had the hardest time even making contact with the ball. That threw my confidence down the drain, so every time I went up I already knew I was going to strike out (sure enough, I did!). Then finally towards the end of the season, whoever's dad that was 'coaching' 3rd base came over to me mid at-bat. "Hey Nate," he says "I just noticed you're taking your eyes off the ball before it even gets to the plate. Make sure to watch the ball all the way to the bat." And I did. And I at least made contact with the ball during that at bat. All that said, I was 11. Not a professional baseball player who couldn't hit or throw the ball to 1st to save my life. But hey, if Howie works on it and it gets him going, he could be a good player for someone else!

There it is! 6 year veteran just has to work on...his tracking of the puck!!

Maybe people like to oh I don't know, Watch The Game while it's on?? Is that unreasonable? People watch, then post their comments after? s***, do you get mad at people for not giving their opinion every five minutes of a movie instead of just watching it and then discussing it after it is done? There isn't some conspiracy here where people just show up to hate on the loss, they just want to discuss it with other people when it's over.
