I'd have such a high index of suspicion with him at the moment that it would be mindblowing. Any headaches, nausea, other symptoms, he sits. Hit during a game and goes to the quiet room? Sit for the next. That he hasn't been free of symptoms for any significant period of time is pretty worrisome from a medical perspective- the IMPACT test is nice, but imperfect. Second impact syndrome is not something to take lightly. I'd wager he sits at least until the playoffs, unless things get dire and they're fighting for a spot. Then, they might take a risk, but it's still a big one. One good shot from Kronwall, Chara, any of the heavy hitters could end his career. It's as I told a patient this morning: Yes, it's important that you do A, B and C for your job. However, if you seriously hurt yourself doing it, then not only do those not get done, but now you're in trouble. He needs to take care of himself first.

That's what I don't get from the initial Lucic hit. How didn't one of the Sabres immediately get out there and beat Lucic's ass? Granted, he's a solid fighter, but Gaustad in particular would be able to make him regret that hit.

When was it signed? There are only 3 13s in Wing history- Harold Hart, Kozlov and Datsyuk. Problem is, that looks like none of them. I'm guessing it's actually a 43- slight skip in the pen. Best guess is Matt Hussey, played 5 games in Detroit in 06-07. It can't be a 23 or 33, shape of the number's wrong. There's never been a 53, 63, 73 or 83, and it certainly isn't the lone 93.

From 25-30: Brunnstrom, Eaves, Filppula, Hudler, Miller, Ericsson, Kronwall, Howard. From 31-35: Cleary, Datsyuk, Franzen, Zetterberg, Commodore, Stuart, Conklin. From 36-40: Bertuzzi, Holmstrom. Over 40: Lidstrom. Who are you dropping to get a "Youth injection"? 13 of the 23 guys on the roster are 30 or younger. The "older" guys include possibly the best 1-2 punch in the game, and 2 damn solid power forwards in Cleary and Franzen. Bertuzzi is just above this at 36, and still was over half a point per game last year. Holmstrom's slowing down, sure, but he's fitting well on the lower lines. The only over-40 guy is Lidstrom. Exactly where are you putting "young" guys? More than half the team is already there. Yeah, they're the oldest team in the league by average age, but having a 41 year old Lidstrom and a 38 year old Holmstrom pulls up the average a long way.

Come now, there are glasses that can be used as hammers. No way is glass as fragile as DiPietro.

Both are excellent. I would wear one with pride. Seems odd to say it that way, but I would- pride in the community's response, hope for those left behind, and in memory of those gone beyond.

Not a bad set. Got Bertuzzi, White, Kindl, Mursak, Conklin, Franzen, Kronwall, Legace, Wooley and Cleary. Just barely made it for Kronners- they were shutting down a few people after us. I used my Helm sweater I had signed at a signing in Woodhaven- it's pretty crowded on the back now! Awesome day- well worth it!
