Lions are my dark horse to win the North. 10-6, maybe 11-5.

Now for Grind Line II- Abdelkader, Helm, Miller or Mursak. The Winged Wheel lives on. Congratulations on the great career, Drapes. The Joe's doors are open any time you want by.

Yes, now look at the requirements for the Vezina in Sawchuk's time. As written in the Ottawa Citizen, 2/15/1946: "Another change was in the conditions for award of the Vezina Trophy to goal tenders. In future, the award will go to the team with the fewest goals scored against it in the season. The goalie playing the most games for the club will get the cup." Those were the qualifications for the Vezina Trophy from the middle of the 1946 season through the 1981 season, so all the years that Sawchuk played. It was after the 1981 season it became the trophy for best goaltender. The qualifications for the Jennings, per the NHL itself: "The William M. Jennings Trophy is an annual award given to the goalkeeper(s) having played a minimum of 25 games for the team with the fewest goals scored against it. Winners are selected based on regular-season play." The Jennings today is what the Vezina was from 1946 through 1981. Today, they are different, but the Vezina as awarded to Sawchuk would be the Jennings today.

You do realize the Jennings now is essentially what the Vezina was in Sawchuk's day, right? From 1946-1981, the Vezina was given to the starting goalie of the team with the fewest goals against- sounds a lot like the Jennings.

I'd like to see it, personally. In truth, I don't see it as a gimmick- it's a fun play on words, like Tootoo wearing 22.

Nor do I, unless they've finally decided to take the Detroit route and start aggressively building via draft. They haven't made the finals since Detroit beat them bloody in '98, and haven't even made it out of the second round since then. Maybe they're saying the Semin experiment is over same way we do with Hudler?
-
Cap space. Washington right now is $890,128 over the cap. Semin makes $6.7 and is a UFA after this season. Swapping in Hudler gives them three million-plus in space with which to work in 2012-13. For Detroit, adding Semin and subtracting Hudler (most likely according to the rumors I've seen) would leave Detroit with 2.7 million to go find a backup goalie, and add in a nearly point-per-game guy.

Hell, NASA still uses TRS-80 computers for some mission-specific calculations- they work, no need to change them. A friend of mine on another forum has been tasked with finding parts for them when he was stationed at Canaveral- said it was nearly impossible.

Things look bright. Really excited to see what the kids can do!

If he does this, I'm buying the sweater. No better way to combine geekiness and Wings cred.

Bake? Dough is plenty. Want some? TPBM wants cookies.

Who's saying no on Jagr? I heard Pitt was out, but not Detroit.
-
Didn't TSN used to have a small tracker that opened in its own window for FA day? Can't find the thing.
-
I'd love to see Detroit make a play, but doubt it'll happen. Need D, not forwards.

Nessie. Considering the weird stuff that is found in the ocean, a living plesiosaur wouldn't surprise me. Aquaman or Black Manta?
-
Cheetos, please. Ketchup or mustard on your hot dogs?
-
Bolongese. Love the stuff if properly made. Spaghetti or angel hair?
-
Veal. Never got the taste for lamb. Onions or garlic?
-
I can't wait to someday see Jurco and Datysuk on the same line- the puckhandling would be insane.
-
Ick, neither. 85 and humid or 95 and dry?

Pulled from the DRW website about a minute ago:

You do realize Zetterberg is a Left Wing, right?
-
71 minutes in 82 games, a chunk of those due to a fight and game misconduct. He does pull dumb ones every so often, but I'll take that rate in trade for his offense.

Uh, how does Bert do any harm in the top-6? 5th among forwards in points, third in points, sixth in goals. That's a top-6 forward almost by definition. Less than 1 penalty minute per game average, sixth in shots, ninth in shot percentage, two of the higher being Tatar and Emmerton who played less than 10 games each. Homer you can debate, but I don't see it for Bertuzzi. Cheap sub-2M contract, consistent half a point per game played.
