WIN. Seriously... Vista's pretty, but the instability issues are driving me batty. I haven't had to touch my XP laptop in 4 years, and it runs smooth as silk. This is the second time I've formatted this thing in six months. Thank Gordie for backups.

More than anything, it's a lack of intution with it, also the extent to which it restricts the user. Even up to XP, if there were a major fault you could still get around to DOS and format the drive that way, or on HP XP computers you could access the hidden D drive and rescue with the partition. Vista locks it all down. Making it worse- the current problem- is the fact that you can't simply roll back an update anymore. I was having troubles with one where it would automatically throw up a false error and claim that one of my programs wasn't running, and HP advised removing that update. Remove it, corrupt the boot sector, and I'm out $50 for the parts to salvage my C drive onto my laptop. Thankfully, it's working now. I'm typing this on it. Tomorrow will be a long day of tweaking the computer to get everything set right, but that's okay. Just ranting, don't mind me.

I've spent the last 4 hours reformatting my computer. Thankfully, I was able to salvage my files on my laptop. God, I HATE Vista!
