I just dont know how Ozzie can suck it up in the regular season and turn it on in the playoff's. If Jimmy keeps it up, he gets my vote for the playoff starter. If he keeps it up and wins the Calder, but doesn't get to play in the playoff's to really prove himself, that's messed up.

Now, when Nick retires (I see it happening soon), would it be a slap in the face of Hank or Pavel to make Brad captian? He leads by example. He is our best defensive player, and I hear he has been known to speak up in the dressing room. Do ANY of you see this happening, or am I just crazy?

For all of you saying that he is not a talker and not a loud person, talk to Steve Yzerman about being a captain. Yes, I'm sure that when needed, he gave it to the team, but you know what? Because we have had SOOOOOOO many captains between then and now. If we had several home grown captains, as in more than 5, i might see your point. But 2, does not count.

This is EXACTLY what my thoughts are. I think he would make a good captian as he stick up for his guys, and he can back it up, but he might be too new make captain.

Is Helm still a rookie? He has played in and out (regular season) the past 2 years and played most of the playoff games the last 2 years. I think he is not a rookie anymore. Pardon me if there is a minimum requirement that make a rookie a veteran, I just haven't heard of one.

If he truly want to play here, I think $0 is a good amount. He plays a freakin game for a living. The pros are too overpaid.
