Do you have any idea how many fans of other teams hate the Penguins for the very reasons you stated above?? I'm a Ranger fan and am rooting hard for the Wings to put this team away. A lot of other fans on our message board-most of us-are rooting for the Wings, too. And, yes, the Pens will again get the calls in their favor, but that hasn't been holding up your team at all and I think, in fact I KNOW, the Wings will want to put them away tonight, so don't worry. From an outsider's view of your team, I don't see the Wings blowing this game tonight.

The thing is that he's been in the league for 3 years now, going on 4, and he should know better by now. It's obvious that all the worship he gets in the media has him thinking he's entitled to special treatment. He needs to be "straightened out" so to speak.

Crosby never got them ratings before, why should now be any different? Truth is, Red Wings are an original 6 team with a wide-reaching fanbase. That has more to do with it than anything else, but of course the Crosby lovers in the nhl will be quick to make him the reason.

Going by what he said in an interview after the season ended, Shanny said he will think about if he wants to play again. He said he still feels he can contribute to a team in winning games, and he's right there. The problem is, he was overused by Renney on the PK and PP so by mid-season, he was worn out. I love Shanny too, but the truth is, he's taking up a roster spot for a younger guy. I'd love for him to take on role of assistant coach.

It's like the average fan wouldn't even be sure it's the Red Wings playing in the final against the Pens. It is sickening.

You have to understand that this is Bettman's "new" nhl, and he happens to resent the original 6 teams, at least that's what I believe, so he probably has PR machines spouting this BS that the Pens are the next dynasty. I heard him say that when teams like the Red Wings and Rangers, also Toronto/Montreal win it's a waste because they already have an established fanbase. Bettman favors the expansion teams so he is the one pushing the Pens and has since the end of the lockout. Pittsburgh gets way too much credit and respect from all the so-called experts and it's a shame that more people aren't giving the Wings their props. That may be because of the older average age of the players, but I don't think that should take anything away from them. It doesn't seem fair to me either.

They were lucky to get passed the Rangers, to tell you the truth. The refs gave them a LOT of help in that series.
