    Wings re-sign Ericsson to 3-year, $9.75m contract

Still not seeing confirmation of salary, only confirmation that a deal has been reached.

    Bettman Re-Alignment Proposal

As that may be, if Bettman is making a proposal to the BOG, it likely means he's talked with many owners, has an idea of where they're at, and that his proposal or a modified form of his proposal has a solid chance of going through. I don't care for it as compared to other options, but I do recognize its upsides and would definitely like it more than what we (read: Wings fans) have now.

Ehrhoff's rights traded to NYI, then traded to Buffalo

Not quite. It's a more complex issue than I previously stated. It's more accurate to say that the NHL wouldn't take any disciplinary actions unless a team was blatantly and with obvious intent violating the cap floor. If a team meets all reasonable expectations in trying to reach the floor and does not for some reason, or dips under due to lack of fulfillment of bonuses, the NHL may not respond to it to the same way. Dipping under the floor is a much more subjective situation than being over the cap.

Our Free Agents not locked up yet -

    1. Ericsson 2. Eaves Don't care much after that. Wouldn't mind any of the rest back, but not worried about them either.

    Bettman Re-Alignment Proposal

Tell Bettman, not me I'm just presenting likely divisions based on the reported parameters of Bettman's proposal. The other one I think is likely with said parameters: Pacific: VAN CGY EDM SJS LAK ANA PHX COL/WPG Midwest: WPG/COL MIN CHI DET PIT CBJ PHI/BUF East: BUF/PHI BOS OTT TOR NYR NYI NJD MTL South: WAS CAR FLA TBL NAS DAL STL

    Yep, exactly that.

Ehrhoff's rights traded to NYI, then traded to Buffalo

They don't need to, actually. A team can legally operate under the floor.

Ehrhoff's rights traded to NYI, then traded to Buffalo

Actually, it's probably more like all of the more contender-type teams with money didn't even bother because they know he's going to test free agency, looking for a contender that will pay him big bucks. This is a case of a desperate GM for a desperate team acting in desperation.

Low value on his rights. I can't see Ehrhoff signing with NYI but weirder things have happened.

How can he miss if he never had a chance? It would have been tampering to talk with Lukowich before UFA. Unlikely he ever was, that was just rumor/speculation.

    Filling Out Roster From Within

The forwards would be fine. The defense would blow. It pretty much comes down to that.

Ehrhoff's rights traded to NYI, then traded to Buffalo

Already re-signed with his team IIRC.

Ehrhoff's rights traded to NYI, then traded to Buffalo

He probably does. Holland/Babs/Lids seems like a trio of men that have a great amount of respect for each other.

    Cam Barker on waivers

Would take on reentry, not at standard price tag.

Ehrhoff's rights traded to NYI, then traded to Buffalo

I could live with Ehrhoff in a 5-5.7 range. He fills a very similar role and player type to Rafalski, but is younger, less injury prone, and would be slightly cheaper even at the high end of that price. He's a solid young player.

    Bettman Re-Alignment Proposal

Actually, if I had to take a srsbsns guess, I'd say the playoffs would be structured as such. Divisional semifinals Top 4 from each division make playoffs, 1 seed plays 4 seed, 2 plays 3 within division. Divisional finals: The 8 remaining teams play their remaining divisional rival, easy enough Semifinals: At this point, it goes to overall seeding to determine matchups with the 4 remaining teams. Should be 1 from each division, so simply base it off point standings. 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3 And then the SCF

    Bettman Re-Alignment Proposal

Very carefully. Dunno, the NHL has had unbalanced divisions before so I suppose the best thing would be to check schedules from those years and see if they were balanced at all. It's important to note that imbalanced divisions have only existed in the NHL when the NHL was on the upswing and in the midst of expansion every handful of years. A willingness to go to unbalanced divisions may also indicate desire/plans to expand (to 32 teams) within a handful of years, which would put the NHL at 4 divisions of 8.

    Trade Speculation Talk...

Well, actually, Stamkos is the one sort of piece Toronto could add that might make them not a lottery/crappy team anymore. Finally gets them a good center for all their wingers. Toronto isn't as much of an utter train wreck as they used to be. Islanders? Goalie-less Florida? Maybe.

    Bettman Re-Alignment Proposal

Not a frigging clue, I'll let Betty figure that one out. I was just working on divisions based upon his supposed format. Personal preference? Divisional playoffs followed by overall playoffs of some sort. Divisional playoffs would be nice rather than that 'lol auto in' stuff, and likewise, divisional playoffs can make for great rivalry buildup.
