Which NIN song best describes the Wings right now?
Datsyerberger replied to Pavel Hossyukstrom's topic in General
Screw NIN.. my response to that thread is that this is what I feel like is happening to me every time I see the Wings get a lead: -
When our offense is going, our D is not.. when our D is going, our offense is not..
-
One... two... two posts! Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah!
-
Yucky goal given up by Howard, but still, epic LOL at Wings fans taking a dump all over a goalie whenever they get a chance. This sort of crap doesn't happen if you sustain pressure.
-
Kinda odd to consider Teapot Nummy-nums a retired number, but anyone sticking around with that franchise that long deserves it, I guess!
-
The 2008 one is just as funny (and bizarre):
-
The wrong guy lost his job in that org. Ah, well..
-
Jack Edwards has this horrible combination of blatant homerism, an annoying tone of voice and a ridiculously stereotypical accent. Take him away, please. Almost as bad as Rick Jeanneret trying to out compete the goal horn. Also bad: Pittsburgh announcers Columbus announcers San Jose announcers Colorado announcers

Statistical comparison: Lebda gives slightly more hits and blocks per ATOI (however, its so close as to almost not matter) Lebda commits less giveaways with greater TOI Over the course of 3 seasons, Lebda provides more offense per TOI Meech takes less penalties and less dumb penalties per TOI Meech can act as a reserve forward Meech looks more comfortable on the powerplay Lebda (amazingly) has consistently higher +/- Meech has possibly more upside and offensive consistency with consistent playing time Lebda makes (slightly) more Kinda a wash, but seeing as both of these guys are backup with a full roster, I'll take Meech with his greater versatility and less taking of dumb penalties. It's close, though. Lebda probably has more trade value to teams going for a cup, so that adds another reason to keep Meech. Basically a wash, though. Edit: Even though I take Meech, I'm voting Lebda just to make it the closer poll that it should be.

Honestly, I see Canada. From the management to the coaching to the players... yea.

Bolded for players who are on entry-level contracts. Flip is on his first big contract, and as such it's not realistic to compare him to players on entry-level contracts. Any upcoming RFAs are disqualified. I also disqualified Gomez and since he was signed by a ridiculous Rangers GM (whom shall go unnamed) at expectations of production greatly exceeding the other players on this list. Now that that's done, here's the average among the remaining 26 non-bolded players: 3.356 (rounded) Not taking into account defensive ability (in which he ranks higher than > half of the list) and physicality (in which he ranks lower than > half of the list), Flip is about $350,000 under the average. While he's neither the best bargain or the best player in the list, I'd say he ranks among the better bargains of the list. The unbolded is a damned solid group of players. Hell, almost all of the list is (except Ryan Pesce wtf).

I guess I'm not terribly patriotic; if the Red Wings played Team USA, I'd be yelling at the TV for them to kick USA's ass.
-
Almost as good of a laugh as I got out of the traitors thread, thanks GMR.
-
I abstain from voting on this since Vokoun (leader in average SV% since the lockout and 2nd best this year) is not on the list. Terrible.
-
Great comeback by the Wings.. solid clampdown by the defense, good recovery by Howard, nice showing by the offense, and some bounces and calls going our way for a change.
-
On a note not related to the Wings being utter s***e, is anyone else surprised the officials let play continue with a skate blade lying around on the ice? That seems a bit dangerous (though maybe a linesman picked it up, I didn't see).
-
So, this thread was pointed to recently in another.. I thought it'd be a good one to pull out of the graveyard, just for giggles. Feel free to have a chuckle at yourselves or dig up some dirt on me; I'm sure there's some around somewhere.

Lidstrom, followed very closely by Howard.
-
2009-2010 Red Wings: "At least we got the loser point." Discuss.
-
Oh my god, Flip..
-
And here comes 5 minutes of cup replays.
-
And the slurpfest... er, intermission begins.
-
That was overdue.
-
...You mean you aren't throwing up from the PP performance already?
