It's most likely they will, as he's the easiest/most logical asset to send down. Certainly a permanent fixture on the roster next season, though.

This isn't a 'winning record' stage for the Wings right now. This is a survival/try to keep at .500 period. Yea, it sucks to look like the TML at the moment but consider exactly what we're missing with our injuries: 1st line goalscorer 2nd line playmaking/pking center 2nd/3rd line offensive/pp point forward Top pairing (#1 on some teams) d-man/PP QB #5/6 PK d-man We're not just missing roster players, we're missing what amounts to 1/2 of our highest end/minutes players and our #2 PK d-man. Arguably the worst run of injuries in the NHL right now. Compare our L10 to a coupla other good teams that are hurting on injuries now (or were recently): Wings: 4-5-1 Avs: 3-5-2 Pens: 5-5-0 All 3 .500 or worse And here's the L10 of our last 4 opponents: Dallas: 5-4-1 Calgary: 6-2-2 Atlanta: 6-2-2 Nashville: 8-2-0(!) All above .500, a couple on hot streaks, all with excellent goaltending performances the night they played us. Toss in with that a recent streak of disallowed goals against the Wings. Recap: *Arguably worst injury-hampered team at the moment *Recent opponents playing well *Some bad bounces *Momentum killing disallowed goals *7-1 before Dallas It's not time to hop off the bandwagon yet.

That is, in my opinion, the weakest spot of this team. I watch a wide variety (and large quantity) of games outside the Wings and I'd go so far as to say that the Wings are among the worst in the league in that regard, if not the worst. Outside of a mild contribution by Stuart we have absolutely no physical presence in front of our own net with our present D. Opposing players could figure skate in the low slot and and in front of the crease if they wanted to.

I actually forgot a couple games after the Dallas game to the current losing streak, but the recent schedule has been brutal.
-
'Only 5th' for what's presently a 2nd line forward. That puts him at or among the top at missed shots:TOI. That said, I'm actually not a Bert critic; he's been working hard and currently has a bad case of Sammyitis. I'm just pointing out SOG isn't necessarily relevant to offense without taking shot quality into account.
-
Arguably more detrimental than beneficial when the majority of such are right into the chest (and even more so considering all the uncounted ones wide or off the post). Bert's got a bad case of Sammy Syndrome, which is a shame, because he's seemed to be working hard all year.

I'll take the guy that's been one of the top 2 goalies (arguably the top overall) the last 2 playoffs at ~1.417m

Stack the lines. We may not win a game, but at least we might score goals to wake up some offense again. I'd try: ZDH Leino - Helm/Abs - Cleary Bert - Helm/Abs - Eaves May - Draper - Miller or Dats - Z - Cleary Leino - Helm/Abs - Homer (same) And just get every line that's not the first to hit a lot, dump and chase and crash the net. The only way we're going to pot many goals with: Bert Helm Abdelkader Maltby May Eaves Miller Draper Cleary as 3/4 of our active forwards is through hard work and random chances due to aggressive play. 3 lines worth of our roster forwards at the moment are basically bangers and energy players, so that's what we need to be playing like.
-
In light of my long anticipated and delayed (more on that later) return and the team's recent offensive struggles, I offer you these lines: Zetterberg - Draper - Miller : The 'EN[r]G' Line Helm - Datsyuk - Maltby : The 'How Do I Shot Puck' Line Homer - Cleary - May : The 'Waive-Off' Line Eaves - Leino - Bert : The 'Off the Post' Line And to work with our defensive troubles: Lidstrom - Stuart : The 'Mickey Redmond Ticky-Tacky Penalty Memorial Award' Pairing Rafalski - Ericsson : The '"It's not a giveaway, it's an assist!"' Pairing Lebda - Meech : The 'Out of Position in the Blink of an Eye' Pairing

I have no idea why Guerin and Tkachuk are typed in normal convention in that first paragraph (ex. "Guerin" and "Tkachuk") within the first paragraph within this post. Oh. and Abdelkader.

Yea, I remember how much fun it was sticking it to that whiny ****** canoe, Therrien. He reminded me of principal McVickers from Beavis and Butthead "Uhhhhhh uhhhhhhhhh obstruction! Uhhhhhhhrrr you little bastards!" *scrambles with pill bottle and chugs whiskey* Bylsma is so much more likable, you almost feel sorry for him. Almost.
-
For a mature, hard-to-hate player, I have to go with Gonchar. For a younger player I feel is mature and classy, Letang.
-
Here's my strategy if I were Bylsma:
-
Well, he can have the Hart, then.
-
I highly disagree. Hell, there were enough 1 goal games in the Ducks series that were close enough.. without the Wizard's play, eh...
-
Wings without Ozzie wouldn't be here. Not unless the replacement was just as spectacular.
-
On the one hand.. I want the NHL to be successful. At the same time, I'm tired of it doing so at the expense of the quality of product, tradition, and the experience of the fans.
