Look, I dislike the Ducks, but they're undoubtedly one of the best playoff teams post-lockout (arguably 2nd best). They play defensive hockey. They use smart obstruction. They're in the same conference as the Wings. They understand that's just how things are done in the West.. smart, defensive hockey. A team and a fanbase that knows what defense looks like respects the Wings.

It's true. Among goalies who have played 10 or more games in the SCF, Ozzie has the highest winning % (it was .818 after last game, so now..) -
You're kidding, right? His stick and boardwork has been amazing. He hasn't finished on anything yet, but he's been setting up on solid chances and has kept the puck contained in the Pens zone for good long moments.

I seriously doubt a 7 year member here is posting this thread just to troll. I seriously doubt he'd lie about knowing someone in the Wings office, and while said inside source may have exaggerated or misheard a couple things, I doubt that all of that would be entirely inaccurate as well.

Remember, Therrien was being widely hailed as the coaching savior of the Pens who had come from the AHL to help them all the way to the Finals last year. While I think Bile-smile uses a better style for the Pens, and the players probably like him better, is he going to be any more competitive coach for the Pens in the finals? I'm not sure yet.

This. The only thing better about this year's Pens team is Malkin. Everything else is worse except the coaching. The goaltending is way worse.

This explains why it's only 53.2%: LOLOLOLOLOL That would be by far Ozzie's worst numbers in a playoff series. Wtf were they using, his regular season stats as a benchmark? Seriously though, if the computer is predicting us to win with goaltending that awful...

The Pens team defense as a whole is underrated. At the same time, it's definitely not their greatest asset. One really big difference between this year and last is last year Fleury was going on a tear and keeping them in games where their offense wasn't as effective, and this year they're mostly living off their offense.

I've got pretty much the same feeling. The Pens are a worse team on paper, and I'm feeling almost complacent.. just hoping the Wings aren't feeling the same way.
