Yeah really screw the Blackhawks. How can you root for a team that says "Detroit Sucks" more than "Let's go Hawks"
-
f***in Hawks. Go Habs tomorrow

Shanny is ******* awesome

NHLPA thanks Red Wings' great by reintroducing MVP award
Ram replied to MCleveland89's topic in General
Glad Lindsay's getting some recognition. NHLPA owes him a lot. But yeah, you think Lester Pearson's rolling over in his grave after all the work he did? Ah, the Nobel was enough. -
Thanks for posting. Good stuff

Does anyone think the Eastern conference can win the Cup?
Ram replied to Vladifan's topic in General
The Hawks are clearly the most talented bunch still in it. They win tonight, and that s***'s pretty much over. The way Niemi is playing is tough to top, so I agree with the idea that the only way anyone's gonna get past them (should they beat the Sharks) is through goaltending. Halak or Leighton have to get hot or it's gonna be a short one. Guys like Briere, Callammeri, etc. can't carry the goal load that consistently throughout the entire playoffs, it's just not plausible. Or the Sharks can do us all a favor and win a f'in game. And I'm still rooting for the Habs. They're already my go to team at this point. There's too many asswipes I really don't want to see raise the Cup, though there are some guys I want to see raise it. Like: Hawks (Kane and Hossa blow, Toews I wouldn't mind) Sharks (Rob Blake still dislike from his Avs days, Setoguchi, Pavelski I wouldn't mind) Flyers (Pronger, end of story. Briere, Ville, would be proud) But to answer the question, I think the East can do it with hot goaltending. Halak in particular. -
Thanks Habs for screwing over Bettman and his plans

Conn Smythe?
-
I sincerely hope that in 2014 Bettman blows it like he's been talking about and does not interrupt the NHL season for the Olympics. Then guys like Dats, Ovi, Kovy, etc. can subsequently pull the "up yours." on his dumbass because they're not going to miss the chance to play in front of their home country.

My utter hatred for Blackhawk bandwagoners that I have experienced first handedly going to a school in Milwaukee with nothing but kids from Chicago suburbs who didn't even know their city had a hockey team because it wasn't on TV makes me want to root for the Sharks. This is also usually my go to because the Sharks beat the Wings so you would want to see them go far. But the drought the Hawks have endured and the story of their comeback is one you have to admire, though I dislike them. And the idea of an Original Six matchup in the Stanley Cup Finals cannot be passed up. Canadiens all the way, though. Post Script: Finally got around to reading "Legendary Stanley Cup Stories" by Brian McFarlane. Great read with some great history if anyone wants to check it out at their local Borders.

A salute to a great player and amazing career! Be proud of yourself, Cheli!

Smelling a Conn Smythe candidate? Or Cammalerri?
-
Naturally looking forward to both of these games tonight. Especially Game 7. Think Philly is in a tough spot with Boucher out but who knows, they have had a roller coaster season as is. Let's go Habs! Please pull this one out for the sake of everyone who doesn't want to see the Pens move on. And for Canada.

Amen brother.

Wetzel gets it right. Thanks for posting!

Thanks for reminding me about this. Something better to do than play NHL 10 for non-stop hours upon end

Holmstrom and Draper are not going anywhere. No way, no how. Homer I want to stay. Drapes, would rather want in a Maltby this season role. Except he's an A, don't know if they could strip him of that?
-
Maybe the Griffs can sign him? Have a nice retirement from professional hockey, Brad.
-
Not panicking yet. Perhaps if his real estate suddenly goes on the market. Feel like Nick has some unfinished business and he knows he is still one of the most elite defensemen in this league.
-
HABS (AND TIGERS) WIN BABY!! Hope they pull out Game 7, and the Cup.
-
Yeah, I root for the Tigers now. But for the Cup, this order: Habs Nucks Bruins Flyers Sharks Hawks Pens I have begun to despise Chicago sports after going to school in Milwaukee with all Chicago kids. But not as much as I hate the Pens.

Thank you Captain Obvious. The late 90's team was legendary and probably will not ever be reproduced. The Wings won the cup in half of the 6 years from 97-02. I've accepted that that's just not going to happen as easily in today's game.

Thanks for a great season Wings. Tough series. Sharks deserved to win. Maybe not in 5, I didn't expect that. Had some things go their way, but they're a good team. I'm not upset about losing to the Sharks. Don't think this is necessarily a "go back to the drawing board" type end of the season. Wings have good players and a good goaltender. No reason to panic in the D. At least in my opinion. We'll see who comes and goes. Hudler back. Maybe more health out of the entire team next year. Looking forward to it. Thanks everyone here too for a great season.

Thank you Wings. Looking forward to next year already.
