When the whole accident happened with Konstantinov and the others, I went to the Beaumont Hospital they were at (I think it was in Royal Oak, not sure, it's been a while and I had moved out of Michigan shortly after) with my brothers and mother to leave them a get well card. We spotted a couple Wings fans there and there was a big book with a bunch of 'get well' notes from all the fans. On our way out I saw Shanny, McCarty, Drapes and a few others coming out of an elevator and I felt my heart racing. I just remember telling my mother "they're Red Wings players!", although her only reaction was "Oh really? That's nice" to me it was something I will remember for as long as I can. It was my only chance to ever get an autograph from a Red Wings player but I didn't do it out of respect because it would've felt wrong asking for an autograph in such a moment and place, since they were there to visit their injured team mates, not to sign stuff for random kids. But I think it's the memory that matters most! Now that I think of it, it was a pretty classy move on my part for such a young fan at the time

Wings 5 - 2 Flames Wings : Datsyuk, Hossa, Mulex2, Hudler Flames : Iginla, Phaneuf LET'S GO RED WINGS!

Hey guys, remember last playoffs when we were up against the preds and the series were tied 2-2 because Hasek wasn't really playing his best and the wings weren't playing too great as a team? Then Ozzy came stepped up brought a much needed calm presence on the team and went all the way till we won the cup? Yeah that was awesome

We all know that he can shoot, we all know that he can score. He can make some nifty passes and some killer takeaways... He's not our biggest player or best checker or anything but he proved that he can hit when it's needed and shows no fear. I never really thought of pavs as much of a hitter but he has been stepping up his checking game ever since the playoffs from what I've noticed. At first I thought it was just him playing harder just for the playoffs but it seems to have carried along for the season as well. He may not be at his best this season if you look at it from a "points per game" perspective, but he has improved his physical game more than enough to make up for it. I was thinking about all that and decided to look at his numbers. Some of you guys might find this interesting : Year___GP___Hits 2008-09 : 26 19 2007-08 : 82 40 2006-07 : 79 21 2005-06 : 75 20 As you can see, Dats is on his way to a new career high I know that his job is not the enforcer but it never hurts to have stars that can fend for themselves or throw their bodies around when it's needed most. For some of you guys that missed his more recent hits : Big Hit in OT Can't help but laugh after watching Datsyuk knock down Zdeno f***en Chara!

I found the video by simply typing "datsyuk hits chara", it was right under the Chara hitting Datsyuk vid. Come on now Also, the vid was in the original post. aaaaand also, I have to agree with you on Dats > Z

Couldn't have said it any better myself. I play midfielder and know the differences between the sport. Comparing hockey with soccer is like comparing apples and oranges. They are two different sports that require different sets of skills.

What's wrong with showing appreciation for one of our players for getting better at his game? This wasn't about the wings checking or about Datsyuk's "big hits" but about how he has been getting better at em. The Wings haven't been known for being a hard checking team in a long time, so when we do see nice hits or fights it's like a treat for us. If you'd rather support a more aggressive team with more hits and PIMs then the Ducks board is over that way --->

Oh nice! Thanks man, I was looking for those

I would like to be reborn as Marian Zetterberg or Henrik Hossa. I'd have both of their skills and looks combined. Also both of their womens

Alright! Let's Go Oilers! -
I think he's been doing great. He has shown that he's a hard worker and can add some depth to the lineup. I can see him becoming a really good two way player in the future. He's a versatile player that fits in nicely with the team. Hopefully he sticks around long enough to show us what else he can do.

You forgot about another option, how about getting the rack of avs jerseys and making a nice bonfire to keep warm instead? Then you wont have to burn in hell Also, it says "an Avalanche Jersey" people, not a Sakic jersey. Even then, how many Avs fans would wear an Yzerman Jersey today or back when Stevie was still playing? Prolly not many. Shame on the 17% of you guys that put 'yes'. I hope that most of you guys mistakenly put that thinking the question was "would you not wear an Avalanche Jersey?" There should be no excuses for any wings fan to be wearing an Avs jersey. We've become too soft lol

Support Chris Osgood (and the Detroit Red Wings)

Amen to that! I mean it could be worse... Just look at some of the other goalies from other teams out there. At least we're not paying him over $5mil a season .... $5,700,000 to be exact. -
Yeah I was thinking the big 1000 would be coming next season but if he can keep this up then I don't see why not this season. Cheers for Nick! :beerbuddy:
