Let's Go RedWings!!
-
Haha nice I think the Wings should have an easy win like most of you guys are saying, but who knows, we've had our share of bad games against the lowest of our conference, but we're talking about the lowest of the league so who knows. I'll still be optimistic about it and go wiiith Wings 7 (Dats x2, Hossa, Zata, Lids, Cleary and Huds) Isles 2

aw, I was hoping to hear "THE GOAL COUNTS! THE GOAL COUNTS!" but nope

Wow, it's already been 12 years?! I was 11 at the time haha. Watching that game in my living room rooting for the wings and cheering the boys on for every hit of the game. I can so remember that like it was last summer. Oh wait, that was the other cup But seriously, that was a great moment in Red Wings history that won't be forgotten for years and years to come

Okay, so I've been thinking. There's a good 12~16 games left for every team in the league until playoff time. That time has come sooner than I had expected and it's been a great year supporting our Detroit Red Wings, the champions of last year but now it is time to focus more on defending that title because our Wings may only be considered champions for only a few more months and who knows when we'll have that bragging right again. Anyways I want to know your predictions on who will get the 1st~8th spots of the playoffs for both conferences. There are still many teams that have been flying below the radar and can possibly get a playoff spot, especially on the West with only 2 points seperating the 8th and 12th spot. So I was thinking, why not make a game out of it? If your prediction is perfect by the end of the season then you win, if not then whoever gets closest wins. Also, one more thing. Make your predictions while there's at least a good 8~10 games left for most teams. I will not give credit to your prediction if you make it on the last few days. Here's what I got : Western Conference 1. Detroit Red Wings 2. San Jose Sharks 3. Calgary Flames 4. Chicago Blackhawks 5. Columbus Blue Jackets 6. Vancouver Canucks 7. Minnesota Wild 8. Edmonton Oilers Eastern Conference 1. Boston Bruins 2. New Jersey Devils 3. Washington Capitals 4. Montreal Canadiens 5. Philadelphia Flyers 6. New York Rangers 7. Pittsburgh Penguins 8. Florida Panthers

It's pretty ironic how we play at the "Joe Louis" Arena, a place named after a former heavyweight champion boxer yet the team that plays in it couldn't hurt a butterfly if Marian Illitch's life depended on it I sure would love to see Ericsson fight in the big league, I think he's the only capable fighter on the roster at the moment. Not sure if most of you guys have seen any of his scraps but with him and his size, if he could learn to drop em and fight more, I think he'd be a big threat to the opposing team. Just look at him! The guy is huge! All he has to do is get on top of them and it's over Yes, I know that he's more valuable than an enforcer and shouldn't be fighting or else he'd break his nails etc. But hey, if it comes down to it, I wouldn't mind seeing him dirty his hands a little We haven't had a Red Wings player fight that dominant in a while, cept for maybe Downey. -
The misconception that Datsyuk and Zetterberg are equal

Either that or the fact that Feds played lazy when he wasn't godly. I don't think I've yet to see Datsyuk play lazy but that's just me -

There you go defending your opinions on Datsyuk being the better player based on offensive statistics again Sure, Datsyuk won the Selke. He is a great defensive forward, one of the best if not the best. Awards are awards. Just because Z won the Conn Smythe last year, does it mean he's still the most valuable player to the team today? Not necessarily. Like 55fan said, we can argue this forever because in the end it comes down to your own opinions. Try going on the Pens board and asking them who they think is better out of Crosby and Malkin. I'm sure you'd get the same kind of argument there as well. Yes, Datsyuk does show leadership through action more than words. Does that make him a better leader? Not necessarily. I think the Red Wings organization would know better than some random on LGW on who the better potential leader would be. I'm not trying to bring Datsyuk down by any means, I love him just as much as any other Wings fan but I will argue about it if any random such as yourself tries throwing their own opinions out there and belittling Z while they're at it. I can easily say Datsyuk is better than Kopecky, Lidstrom is better than lebda. Those are facts. But I think nobody should be able to say Datsyuk is better than Zetterberg and try to mean it as a fact. Like you said, it's Yzerman and Feds all over again. Apples and Oranges. -

Ok, so tell me. When Feds was at his best, was he a better leader than Yzerman because he had more goals, assists and overall better stats and was able to play D just like any other Defenceman? What was it that made Yzerman the better leader? Edit: let me rephrase that, was Feds a better hockey player than Yzerman because his stats were better at a point? -

Nobody is saying Z is better. I still say they're more or less on the same page. If you think Dats is better then that's your opinion. 'nuff said. -

Actually yes, he is. Was Feds a better leader candidate to stevie Y back in his breakthrough year? I don't think so. Also just look at what I said about Alfie and the Sens last year. Also, gee, I wonder why the NHL decided to give the Conn smythe to Z last year. I bet it's rigged, Dats should've totally won that
