SCF: Boston Bruins vs. Vancouver Canucks

Here's a link from nhl.com http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=564591#&navid=nhl-search Highest rated game 1 in 12 years. Still didn't come close to beating SCF Game 6 last year which was the highest rated game in 36 years or something like that.

    Changes in the offseason

I would love to have him on the Wings, but no way it happens at this price. He made 3.25m this year and was 5th in the league in points for d-men, he's going to be getting a pretty big raise this off-season. Same with Ehrhoff, love to have him on the team, but 3.5m won't bring him here.

    Ilya Bryzgalov

All a one-way deal means is that Leighton is paid the same no matter where he plays, NHL or AHL. Since Leighton is younger than 35, his contract comes off of the cap if he passes through waivers and is sent down to the AHL, but they still have to pay him at his NHL salary since he doesn't have a 2-way deal.

Nabokov claimed by NYI, refuses to report, suspended

If he plays this year, he'll be playing for a contract for next year. If he doesn't play well he's only hurting himself, it's not like he can hurt the Islanders in the standings. In regards to the NMC, he doesn't want to be an Islander anyway, so any deal that has him going to a good team he'll most likely be OK with. (Just my opinion here, you could be right and turn down any trade, I don't know what's going on in his head)

Nabokov claimed by NYI, refuses to report, suspended

This is actually a smart move by Snow. It's win/win for him. If Nabokov reports, he gets a good goalie for the last months of the year. If Nabokov doesn't report, nothing with the team changes, it doesn't cost the team anything, and the Isle can have his contract tolled (if it's approved) to next year where they'll be able to trade him without going through waivers. The stupidest thing he could do is waive him again and get nothing for him. I think most GM's in his situation would have done the same thing. And if he is waived again, don't be so naive to think that no one else will claim him and just let Detroit have him, if anything a team with cap space and in a playoff position will claim him just so Detroit doesn't get him, even if he doesn't want to report to them either.

"Detroit sucks" chant at Cup celebration?

Exactly, I was just talking about this to my buddy who lives in Chicago but is a Wings fan. I love how much we're in their head that the only thing they can think of after their team wins the Cup are the Detroit Red Wings. After the Wings won in 1997, the last thing on my mind where the Aves or even thinking about saying "The Aves suck" when asked how I felt. The entire summer I don't think I thought about them once until the next season started.

    favourite player growing up...

This, in fact all my internet usernames include "booyah" because John Buccigross sometimes called Bure, "booyah" on NHL2nite

    GDT: 10/8 - Blackhawks, 2 @ Red Wings, 3

He also said.... What is he talking about. He hasn't even played against Red Wings yet.

    Pavel Datsyuk Question?

    i don't think so

    Wings sign Todd Bertuzzi

So some opinion from some random person on the internet who's a fan of some other team is affecting your opinion on the Bertuzzi signing? Not to mention that it looks like that random person is judging the entire fan base and team from 1 guy on the team? Personally I couldn't care less what other fans from other teams think of the Wings and their signings.

Ken Holland about next years roster and williams

logic? on this forum? i think you might be lost.
  15. Not to mention he's almost paid more than Datsyuk and Zetterberg combined.

    Nichol Signs with Sharks

I fail to see the irony when the Wings are still under the cap. Not to mention those 12 year deals are reasons why the Wings held onto Franzen and Zetterberg and are still under the cap.

    What about Afinogenov?

Couldn't have said it better. Just think about it, Buffalo doesn't want this guy back, why the hell would the Wings want their garbage. With all these threads around here it seems like some people want to turn the Wings into garbage collectors.

Report: Hossa turns down Wings' offer

I don't think the main issue here is that he's gone, I think the main issue is where he is rumored to be going to (that's the way it is for me anyway). I don't care that he's leaving Detroit, but to sign with the ******* Hawks? come on

    Ed Belfour

Because in NHL09, words like "age" and "passed prime" have no meaning. I mean, why didn't we resign Chelios because according to my stats he's an "80" which is good enough for the 2nd D pairing.

The Real Reason We Lost the Cup

I was hoping that would cancel out with "we always win the cup if we beat a Quenneville coached team"....apparently not.

Longshot but is it possible Penguins could match what Oilers

Subconsciously they're all Wings fans, which is what is keeping them here. They just haven't realized it yet. I mean, why else would they continuously post here. edit: Seriously why make this thread in a red wings forum? Do you value the opinion of the Red Wings fans that much that you have to ask this here? I do admit we are awesome, but it's like you guys don't know what to do with yourselves now that your favorite team won the cup.

Detroit to offer Hossa long term deal

You found that out last year?? Sounds like you just started watching the Pens after 2008. In the 2008 SCF Hossa was involved in every goal except 3 and he had more points than Crosby in the finals...what a choker

    The injury thread

From wiki "Charley horse"... hematoma basically means blood outside the blood vessels that you get in an area like when you're bruised (internal bleeding). My guess is with a serious bruise like a Charley horse, if you play on it, calcium will build up in the area so they needed to cut the area open to remove any build up. This is what I gather from google anyway.
