Louder voice doesn't necessarily mean yell at them, but the leadership guys need to be outworking everyone. The vets and ESPECIALLY the Captain need to be practicing and playing like its their last game. They need to beat everyone to the punch. If you have a guy like Cheli that the young guys see going out there and killing themselves to win one they will step up. Yzerman had that untouchable leadership characteristic, he inspired people with the way he played the game. That's why he's the greatest Captain ever. Lidstrom has done a good job but its time to step up.

Lidstrom. Starts with the team Captain. He needs to play like he's won the Norris Trophy before. Stingy D and not afraid to make a little offense happen Veterans. We need leadership in the locker room. The guys that have been here before (Osgood, Cheli, Draper, DMac) need to get on everyones ass and get them fired up. The guys who can be moved in or out depending on how the game goes need to be playing for their spot. You suck and blow an assignment, you are replaced for the next game. Ozzie needs to step up. He's been good so far, but has faced far less shots than Turco and has let more go in. You can't face 22 shots and let 2 in.

Yeah I love Mississippi but it does carry its fair share of generalizations. NASCAR is not a sport. It's left turns. Guys we just have to learn to not feed the Dallas trolls. They are horrible in that state athletically. The Texas Rangers trade players away or lose them to free agency and they become superstars. Their basketball team takes the first 2 games in the finals then drops 4 straight and loses to the Miami Heat. The Cowboys are habitual choke artists here recently. Vince Young had an okay first year then has faded into obscurity in the NFL. They don't have much going for them. Let them hold on to their 33 years belief. I'll take the octopus.

While that is no real excuse, the goal did seem to come off the pegs quite a number of times. I seem to remember one time when we got a breakaway on a line change and a whistle went up because the goal move.

I think you said it all there. We weren't playing to win, we were playing not to lose. We got the goal to tie it and just seemed content to sit back and let them try and beat us and guess what they did.
