Hey Ladies and Gents, just returned from Atlanta with some friends for Spring Break. Got to catch the Wings vs. Thrashers game there. Detroit fans were very impressive. They outnumbered the Atlanta fans. While walking through the CNN center the Atlanta fan behind me remarked "this is ******* ridiculous. There is more red and white than blue. It's like the rangers game last year but 10 times worse." The best part was watching highlights hearing the wings score and the cheers were as loud as if they were the home team. That being said the Atlanta fans are pretty good. They were very respectable and many of them seem to be buying into the idea of being a good knowledgeable hockey fan. Heard a few of them that were saying they hope the owners learn that to be competitive they have to put out some more money to keep good players like Hossa in Atlanta. One guy remarked to me while leaving how pathetic he felt it was that Atlanta fans were booing Hossa. Said it made them all look like ignorant band wagon fans being he didn't ask to be traded. He said good luck to the Wings in the playoffs. All in all it was a good experience. I was impressed by the number of fans that are really buying into it and working to make hockey in Atlanta popular.

I don't think that is an accurate statement. A rested sharks team against a wings team on their longest road trip of the season is just not the same. This is the same team that beat the Sharks 6-0. I'm not making excuses but I don't think this single game proves they are the best.

also can we please get a true enforcer. They are taking the body to us something wicked and it seems like Rafalski is the only one trying to fight back.

That was just a bad combo. the D broke down. The shot was perfect and Ozzie got beat. I will admit it looks like he made no effort whatsoever and just chalked it up to a breakaway goal.

this is made sadder by the fact I am listening to the homers that are the San Jose broadcasters.

The problem with this logic is one thing. Hasek was the top dog on a team of very average players. Ozzie was the bottom of the totem pole on a team of future hall of famers. I respect Hasek but the difference is if Buffalo is better, then he doesn't have to be that good. Ozzie's stats etc are overlooked because of the caliber of players that were on Detroit's teams for his time with Detroit. He wasn't ever the best goalie in the league but he won when it mattered. Ultimately there are people a lot less deserving in the HOF.

I dunno. Melrose is still quite proud to rock the mullet.

In all seriousness that was the funniest s*** I have seen all season. I feel like I should be paying you for sharing that with us. Dear goodness that was classic. that should be No. 1 on ESPN's non-Top 10.

You know if you judge based on youtube, it would seem every Red Wing's highlight goal is against Vokoun.

Question about center ice. I know that part of center ice is also broadcasting games on xm. I got xm for christmas and am excited but i was wondering if anyone knew how often the Red Wings game was on xm

I'm watching the Wings game on nhl gamecenter. They are offering a free trial this evening.

being from Katrina land I remember how classless it looked on tv. My uncle was at that game and is a Chicago native. He said there is no problem making fun of people, but Katrina and stuff hidden in snowballs is just a little much.

Or does Rafalski seem to be stepping up? He's played really well over the last couple of games and seemed to making better and more smart decisons in the Winter Classic than previously.

Lilija stepped up. He played like crap in the 1st period of the Winter Classic but he got his stuff together.
