I strongly disagree. Kovalchuk has DRASTICALLY changed his game. I know there were a few games where it looked like he was floating around, but it's been confirmed he had a back injury. And us Red Wing fans can't really throw stones at those who aren't THAT effective nursing a back injury. He's come along way since ATL.

Suter I think will thrive here, I don't believe we have a shot to land Parise (although I hope i'm wrong) If I'm Holland though, I'm throwing a truck load of money at both and take the risk. If we don't land Parise, Semin would be the logical option. For all of the flack Semin gets on the boards, I think he'll be a pleasant surprise to everyone next year. Datsyuk just needs to get him to buy into the system. Bring in Konopka to punch faces and win faceoffs as well.

To be fair, our next 3 first round picks (more than likely pick 20+) likely will never be as good as Shea Weber. He's a top 3 defenseman in the league. With that being said, I don't think I agree with above comments on signing him to an offer sheet. Draft picks are so unbelievably overrated it isn't even funny. There's absolutely NO guarentee those players will turn out to be anything, let alone a Norris Trophy calibre defenseman. But again, with that being said, I understand teams not trading their first round picks like they're a bag of pucks lol.

I think giving up Nyquist AND Smith is a terrible idea. Both looked very good last year, I don't think we should give up on them.

Ya, I think Zach & Ryan are anxious to see what they're worth on the open market. You have to remember, these are people as well so it has to be exciting for them.
