    The Sun Came Up Today

Yeah, the sun came up... however I don't think my remote will ever be the same after I spiked it into the ground after the Preds last goal. Batteries flying everywhere

#5 Philadelphia Flyers vs. #4 Pittsburgh Penguins

They're the kind that thinks their team can do no wrong. Them: "Well... Courtier and Giroux went after Neal first! He was just sticking up for himself." Me: "Oh really? I'm surprised they found the time to hit him while filling up your net with pucks." Honest to God, I heard a Pens fan yesterday say that the reason they're down 3-0 is because the refs didn't call that first Flyers goal offsides in Game 1. "If they make the right call, the Flyers don't tie the game in the 3rd and win it in OT and who knows how the series might have ended up."

#5 Philadelphia Flyers vs. #4 Pittsburgh Penguins

My Pens friends on FB are pissed that Neal got suspended at all. They're like "What the hell?! What did Neal do?? That's BS!" Clearly, some people didn't watch the whole game. lol

    What's Kenny Holland's Offseason Plan?

Just throwing out a crazy idea, with the extra cap space we already have, a couple players with $2 mil contracts coming off the books, Lidstrom possibly retiring, the salary cap most likely going up again, what are the odds the Wings go after a big name like Iginla, Nash, Bobby Ryan or heck even Ovechkin? The first three are supposed to be on the move this summer and Ovechkin's value is the lowest its ever been, plus, I really think he needs to get on a different team since he appears to have worn out his welcome in Washington. Yeah, he has a HUGE salary, but all those factors I listed with players leaving, the cap going up... I think we could absorb that contract better than most teams. Just a thought. It sure would be nice to a have a bona fide goal scorer in the lineup.

    Too many damn pretty boys

If they don't pull out the next three games, changes will need to be made. Since they won their last Cup, they lost in the Finals, lost twice in the second round and now possibly in the first round. They have gotten progressively worse and will need to shake things up a bit for sure.

    Will Detroit win this series?

After watching games 3 and 4, it would be really dumb to say they have no chance at winning this series. They outplayed the Preds in both games, outshot them 84-39, but still lost. Its like 2003 against Anaheim. We fire a million pucks on net, hit posts, shots trickle just wide, etc. The other team comes down our end, gets a lucky bounce and boom, its in our net. The goal that Nashville scored that was disallowed (which was crap btw, should have counted) that was a perfect example. We're dominating the WHOLE game and then a bad angle shot with Howard hugging the post somehow goes into the net. I'm so over that. If they went out there and got BEAT, I would be okay with that. It would show where they need to improve. But when you control the play, dominate in shots and lose, what do you change? There's nothing you can do about lucky bounces. It either happens for you or it doesn't and right now it definitely isn't. Having said that, I'm still holding out hope that skill and talent will prevail and we win the next three games.

#7 San Jose Sharks vs. #2 St. Louis Blues

I hope the Sharks win Game 4 just so both teams have to fly back to St Louis, then back out to SJ. Keep it going as long as possible.

WCQF Game Four GDT : Predators 3 at Red Wings 1

I can easily see us winning out the rest of the way in this series. We outplayed them badly for most of Game 3, I can see that continuing in Game 4. More pressure will be on the Preds for Game 5, then we go back home, dominate Game 6. If Mule's shot is 0.1 second quicker in Game 3, we might be talking about going up 3-1 tonight.

There should be a plaque above Crosby's locker with this on it.

Trotz lobbying for more goalie interference calls?

Great. Can't wait to see one of our goals get waved off tonight because Homer was in the vicinity.

#5 Philadelphia Flyers vs. #4 Pittsburgh Penguins

Well he IS leading the series in the "shooting gloves away from their owners" category. So there's always that.

#5 Philadelphia Flyers vs. #4 Pittsburgh Penguins

I think its funny that he always says he grew up idolizing Steve Yzerman. Don't people tend try to emulate their idols? I don't recall Yzerman doing or saying these types of things.

#5 Philadelphia Flyers vs. #4 Pittsburgh Penguins

I have this feeling that if the Flyers start to blow out the Pens again in Game 4, Crosby will get himself kicked out of the game so he doesn't have to be in the handshake line.

#5 Philadelphia Flyers vs. #4 Pittsburgh Penguins

When Schenn and Crosby were getting into it and Crosby was yapping in his face, I was like "OMG Schenn if you punch him square in the mouth right now, you will be my favorite player and I will buy your jersey!" lol That was quite the intense game. It was interesting to read the comments from Pens fans on LetsGoPens.com, they were embarrassed by the teams' reaction to losing and called the Pens actions "classless" and "childish". I don't know how they are just NOW seeing this, the Pens have acted like this for years, but hey, I guess its better late than never.

Yeah, I saw that. I really hope he's okay. Such a freak thing to have happen, you hate to see someone get injured because of it.

Shea Weber fined for Zetterberg "headslam"

I never had any to begin with. We're winning this series and then Weber can bang his own head against the glass of a TV screen while watching the Wings play in the second round.

#5 Philadelphia Flyers vs. #4 Pittsburgh Penguins

There's all this talk about the missed off sides call that lead to a goal and that's why the Pens lost. That's garbage. First, the Pens had a 3-0 lead at home against a team they hate. No excuses. Win the game. Briere scores. Whoop. Now you have a two goal lead at home, which in the playoffs, should be MORE than enough. Second, the Penguins had ZERO penalties against them until there was 10 minutes left in the game when Orpik almost took off Briere's head with hit up high. You don't play a physical brand of hockey and not take a few penalties. Especially when you're up against the Flyers. Third, I watched the third period of that game and the Flyers were dominant. Jagr was flying around like it was 1996 again, Briere was great, the defensemen were pinching in and generating offense, their passing and skating was incredible. The Pens, not the Flyers, were lucky it got as far as OT. Carle missed an empty net, Giroux wiffed on a shot with half the net open, one shot rolled just wide... the Flyers could have had more than 2 goals in the third. Despite what the media talks about, outside the first period, the Flyers were decisively the better team, that's why the game ended the way it did, not because of the "missed offsides". For the Pens sake, I hope they focus on the real reason they lost and not the reasons the media is telling them.

Devils in 5 games. Better goaltending, more stars.

#8 Los Angeles Kings vs. #1 Vancouver Canucks

I really think the Kings will take this one. They are the second best defensive team in the league and Luongo has had some pretty shaky playoff series in the past. If he plays this first round like he did last year against Chicago, this will be over quickly and it'll be the Kings winning it.

#7 San Jose Sharks vs. #2 St. Louis Blues

I'm just hoping this goes 7 games. Make those teams fly back and forth across the country a few times. It won't matter who wins after that because it won't be either one of them that wins the next round.

Wings meet Preds in First Round

Yes, yes, and we were 26-11 on the road last year, then lost to the Sharks 3 times in SJ. Regular season is now meaningless. Wings in 6. We have better players and better coaching. Injuries is the only thing that will knock us out in this round.

For once I agree with Don Cherry

While Milbury and sometimes Cherry are "bone heads", they are simply saying what everyone else is thinking but won't say it because they'll get fined themselves or blasted other members of the media. Milbury and Cherry don't care what other people think, so of course, they'll be the first. Tortorella is pretty outspoken himself and has shown that he doesn't care either. I, unfortunately, have been watching Pens games for years and the crap you hear about or see on YouTube is only the tip of the iceberg (no pun intended). The cheap shots, the sucker punches, the diving, the slashing after a lost faceoff, its all disrespectful to the game and to its players. I'm glad people are finally speaking out against this behavior that has been going on for years.

    Interference

I think people are getting upset about it because the playoffs are right around the corner and a missed play like this could determine a game or a series. Its a missed stick from the bench today, a "I meant to blow the whistle before the puck went into the net" tomorrow, and a "I didn't see the black puck laying on blue ice in plain sight because the goalie was wearing black" next week. Not that its ever good to miss a call, but a big one this close to the playoffs makes people nervous.
