TB is really sloppy, especially passing wise. Yzerman will concentrate on defensemen this off season. Get some guys that can handle the puck better. Maybe he makes a run at Bryzgalov. Then again, he may stick with the Red Wings idea of "get a cheap goalie and put that money towards making the team better." I'm not so sure about that. Roloson is 2-2-1 with a 1.38 GAA and a .953 save percentage against the Caps this year. This will be a tight series.

I think this series really depends on the Flyers health. If Pronger and Carter play, its going to be Philly that comes away with it. If not, Boston should win, but they "should" have won last year too.

I used to be indifferent toward the Canucks, but this year, they're really annoying me. The "Luuu" when the puck touches Luongo. The diving from the Sedin twins, the whining, the lack of respect for the other team (ie: "They had no business playing us in a 7th game" - Henrik Sedin) They have a long way to go to reach Penguins or Blackhawks level hatred, but they're moving up.

Most Pens fans are Steelers fans that are very fair weather and don't pay attention to the hockey team until Feb. When Fleury got the shutout in Game 1, they were "we're going to win the Cup!". When they lost Game 2, "the refs want this to be Ovechkin's year". I hate to break it to you, (actually, no I don't,) but Malkin is not a top 3 player in this league. James Neal 60 goals? If he had the talent to be a 60 goal scorer, I think he would have scored more than 2 in his 27 games as a Penguin. Welcome to my world where the Pens never do anything wrong (in the minds of the fans and writers) and if they lose, they were cheated.

That is awesome! Plus, two days off when they travel from SJ to Detroit. That should be good.

I'm not one to typically complain about penalties because if you have a good PK, then it doesn't matter how many penalties you get. However, those dives last year were unbelievable. Especially with Setoguchi. You'd swear the guy didn't know how to skate based on how often he fell to the ice. As long as we're not having to kill off 5-3's we'll be fine.

I just hope it goes 7 games that's all I care about. Beat the hell out of each other is all I'm cheering for. Cmon Tootoo, do your thing.

I really think last year's series against the Sharks could have gone either way despite the fact that it ended in 5 games. The Wings could have just as easily been up 3-0 in that series, it was that close. However, the Wings were just coming off a 7 game series that involved a lot of traveling. This team is better, well rested and the Sharks, I believe, are not as good as they were last year. It should be a good close series once again, but we should have it this time.

Its much better than listening to the Pittsburgh idiots calling the game. I actually watch the games on mute until the Bolts score, then I unmute it to hear the bitching about the goal.

Exactly. Complaining about the officiating now that you're tied after leading 3-0 is a real ***** move. The refs can't bring a team back from 3-0 deficit. Lousy goaltending and lack of intensity can though.

This should be Nick's. I can't imagine Chara getting this award in the same year he has all this controversy around him. Weber was great this year, but Nick had more points and is more well known and liked in the hockey world, which means he probably got the most votes from the writers.

This is exactly what we want at this stage in the playoffs. We burned him out last year against Phoenix. We're getting big leads early, resting him and we're up 3-0. Perfect scenario to this point. Now if we can just close it out Wednesday, give Nick a big rest and hopefully get Z back, we'll be setup nicely.

Yeah, that was called "Lets make it interesting for the national audience". Wings were a much better team today. The only reason it was close was because of the non-stop penalties in the second half of the game. Even with those powerplays, the Coyotes were still lousy. They were two seconds away from blowing another long 5-3.

Exactly. Not that Modano is like Jason Williams, but we started with Williams last year, regretted it, went with Abdelkader and he was a much better fit for that type of series.

Not a fan of this move. I kind of understand it as Modano hasn't been great lately and this should be a physical series, but its the playoffs. This is why he's playing one more year. Give the guy a fighting chance to go out on top. Having said that, I think Modano will be dressing for the next game.

It SHOULD be Wings in 5, but we all know how this goes. We're better than them in every facet of the game, we out shoot them 63-15, their goalie plays insane, and a checker/grinder for the other team that score less than 10 goals a year, chips in just enough goals to win/steal a game or two. Can we just use our superior talent for once to destroy them and skip all that other crap? Just everyone play with the same kind of intensity as Darren Helm for 16 straight games and we'll by parading down Woodward in no time.

Obviously I WANT Tampa Bay to win, but the Pens have the edge in goaltending, defense and experience. Plus, the Pens are very physical and the Lightning are not. Unless Stamkos gets back to the way he was in October, have to say Pens in 5. Hope I'm wrong.
