And then both of Pittsburgh's stars are on the same line. Something tells me that Ottawa would get the better end of that deal.
-
That's what I keep saying about the Pens. Crosby and Malkin will be eating up 18 mil in cap space next year. 5 mil more for Fleury, 5 mil more for Gonchar, 4.5 for Staal. That's 32.5 mil in just 5 players. THIS is why Hossa didn't want to sign in Pittsburgh. Could you imagine his 7.5 mil added to that?
-
I was kidding about playing Ottawa in the Finals. I was likening it to the Hossa situation. Besides, Heatley has no clue how to play defense, so he's not welcome here.
-
He'll come here and we'll play the Ottawa Senators in the Finals next year and they'll boo him every time he touches the puck.
-
Hopefully you'll run into real Pens fans and not yinzers that started watching hockey last year. You may be surprised with how rude some of them can be, I know this from experience. People will indirectly say rude stuff. Like they'll say something really loud to their friends about Wings fans as you walk by. I had a drunk guy pretend to fall and dump his drink on my jersey. Too bad he was actually too drunk to successfully get it on me. Then last year, after the Wings won the Cup I had my car window shot/smashed out (still not sure which). Maybe that was just a coincidence, but I make it no secret that I'm a diehard Wings fan. I don't know of any places where Wings fans hang out during games, I'm thinking their isn't any. Every Wings fan I knew turned on them when the Pens played them in the Finals last year. I chose to stay loyal to MY team. For eating Primanti Brothers is a popular choice for visitors.

12 goals, 10 assists, -9... he's a real star.
-
Screw him. He's a no talent bum.
-
Every Penguin on the ice. He has no support, so whenever he gets the puck, he's swarmed. That's where Dats will come in handy.
-
If Malkin was injured, the series would be over and everyone would be saying "Its a tainted Cup because if Malkin had played, it would have been the other way around."
-
Its funny everyone keeps saying how young and talented the Pens are. Beyond the lottery pick players, what good young players do the Pens have? Who do they have in their farm club that's ready to jump in and make an impact? Here let me answer for you... they have nothing. We have guys on our AHL club that would be impact players on most NHL teams. You can't say the same for the Pens.

Getting Datsyuk in the lineup will be like getting two stars back because I have a feeling with Dats on his line, Hossa will be much better.
-
Thank you for this.
-
The Wings should win this in 6 games. Datsyuk will be back, it will give us an emotional lift at home. Then we'll have two days off before Game 6, so fatigue shouldn't be a problem anymore.
-
I know this is a team game, but the problem here is that with our point leader out of the lineup, everyone is forced into different roles. Zetterberg is being overused, Hossa has no help on his line and Filpula is being asked to do way too much.
-
Pierre Mcguire is a weird dude- U guys see this yet? LOL

LOL my brother was at that game... and before anyone freaks out no Penguins were harmed in the making of this picture. The Zamboni just broke down.

Whats up Detroit... Not a Pens or Wings fan
xtrememachine1 replied to notapensfaninpgh's topic in General
My bad... "as much as Pittsburgh"... which is still incorrect. Detroit has the Pistons, who have won a couple championships while the Wings were not in contention for the Cup and Detroit was still a bigger hockeytown. My point is that Pittsburgh loves hockey, but it will always be second, while Detroit would watch hockey no matter what. I've always said that the Red Wings are to Detroit, what the Steelers are to Pittsburgh. I just see the same type of passion for these franchises from both fan bases. I don't see that type of passion between the Pens and Pittsburgh. -

Pittsburgh loves hockey for sure, but don't say something ridiculous like they love it more than the people in Detroit. Get real. Whenever a Pens game and a Steelers game are being played at the same time, most of the city is watching the Steelers. Pittsburgh is a football town first. Always has been and probably always will be. Detroit is... well its HOCKEYTOWN. They'll watch the Wings over anything else. Saying that Pittsburgh loves hockey as much as Detroit is absurd. -

Not to mention he was up against defenses much tougher than Pittsburgh's. -
They're not saying anything spectacular... they want to rough him up and put him back on the shelf. Here are some of the comments about him... "Welcome to the playoffs Dats... **slash foot***" "That's exactly what the old 29'er (Phil Bourque) said this morning. He would give him a hard tap to the foot and welcome him to the playoffs. I lol'ed that on the drive in to work." "Datsyuk isn't exactly tearing up the playoffs this year, and he most likely isn't 100%. I don't think this will change much." "if it means anything, on ESPN last night, Matthew Barnaby said that he watched Datsyuk in the morning skate and said he didn't look game ready. he said the injury was very noticeable and couldn't see how he would play Thursday." "OMG NOOOO! Before he went out he was averaging a little more than .5 points per game! How can we hope to repel firepower of that magnitude!" "Good I hope Datsyuk does play and then the Wings will be close too or right at 100 percent when the Penguins start to take control back of this series...Babcock had better hope Datsyuk is healthy and affective enough to play because your whole ability to skate depends on the strength of your feet and your ability to move side to side and create things. Datsyuk hasnt played in about 3 weeks and while he is still a very very good player he could end up being very rusty out there and end up turning the puck over on more then one occasion that could lead to numerous scoring chances for the Penguins..." "It's Datsyuk. The chances of him being a "non-factor" are slim to none. Even in the first two games, Crosby didn't have any goals.. but he was certainly a factor on the ice." "I'm sick of hearing about all of the Wing's injuries. It's just an excuse in case we actually beat them. Then they can ***** all year about how we only won because their whole team was hurt. I'm sure we have plenty of players that are hurt as well. They mentioned yesterday that Kris Letang was a game time decision because of injury." "ah F-Datspuke, just one less excuse for the Wings come Thursday nights post-game. Though the Pens need to watch their back, he is a master of hitting from behind." And it goes on like this for like 8 pages...

There are fans in Pittsburgh that know the game of hockey, but they're getting washed out by the idiot fans that are screaming "SHOOT!!" for three straight hours. -
I just thought I'd share this with you guys. I'm a huge Wings fan living in Pittsburgh and I work for the Post Gazette (yes, the same newspaper that created "Deflate Detroit" cheer cards and the Hossa game) and last year I had anti-Wings cheer cards on my desk, etc. This year they've outdone themselves. This morning I came into the office and here's how my desk looked... Its all in good fun, especially if the Wings win tonight and Saturday!
-
Thanks guys! Lots of great ideas

I'm wayyyy ahead of you. I already have last year's "I Believe in Hossa" cheer card on my desk. 2008 "I Believe in Hossa" Pens Cheer Card
