I have entertained the thought of moving Malkin....there are pros and cons...I wouldnt sign him this summer...he'll want the max....hes RFA after next season...you can match any offer at that time (max)... BTW...Crosby is signed long term at about 8 mill/a year...not max...lol..he doesnt need max with all the endorsements...he already took a discount

Malkin's going nowhere.... Everyone (Including Pens fans) forget that Staal is 19...Crosby 20...Malkin 21...Fleury 23... They are all 3-5 years from being in their "prime" Lemieux didnt win a cup until he was 25..... Shero is a damn good GM...the future is very bright.... Perhaps not this year...Detroit IS a great team....but this core will remain intact

Not to mention the 27 mill in cap room..... Whittle that down to Malone, Orpik, and Hossa...everyone else can be replaced if they dont re-sign at a decent salary Fleury is a RFA...Staal and Malkin arent due til 2009....

I'll expose my self to flaming here..... The NHL NEEDS new fans....any circumstance that creates new fans is good for the NHL.... For arguments sake...say the Pens do lose the series....if 1/3 of the "new" fans stick around, because they realize they enjoy NHL hockey...isnt this a good thing? ANYTHING that creates new interest in this league is a good thing. Die hard "old school" NHL fans bash these "new" fans...but be careful what you bash....without new fans...our beloved NHL may be headed down the dinosaur highway....
