Wow.... Simply put...Lemieux RESIGNED due to health reasons and health reasons alone... During the Flyers playoff series that year...he could barely skate... Yes..he was vocal about the NHL becoming a garage league...and quite frankly...it was.... Due to his health..he could no longer play to the standards that he himself set... perhaps more modern atheletes should do the same, rather than hang on pathetically trying to make one more million dollars.... He took 3 years off and attempted a comeback...the franchise...HIS FRANCHISE...needed a boost...but he was never the same... made a nice run to the ECF in 2001 and 2006.... If you dont like Mario...so be it..your perogative....BUT..... Before flaming people..imploring them to DO RESEARCH...perhaps you should do the same

Thanks for the insight...I appreciate it... Flyers had Umberger...who did little in the RS...then exploded for 10 goals in 2 rounds (zip against us) Great thing about the playoffs...people definitely step up I hope he makes it back

As an outsider...I have a Franzen question.... He only had 38 points in the regular season....why the sudden superstar output? Thats quite a jump...just curious....

Not sure if you've seen Gill with us...or this is based on his Toronto days... Since coming to us...he has blended very efficiently in our defensive scheme and has been very very solid

1) Same for us...although the Pens never panic when behind 2) absolutely...goes for both sides 3) This is actually something we've been extremely good at 4) matchups are key...home team will have the advantage (last change) 5) Another cornerstone of our defensive game...so far 6) Although much better of late...Fleury can give up rebounds 7) Both ways again...our PK has been great..as has yours...but both PP's are lethal

I gained alot of respect for Detroit as a community by the way they embraced our fan base during Super Bowl XL There are no two more deserving teams than the two that will face off Saturday. It's much needed for both struggling communities as well.... This is a BLAST!!!
