Yes, but I'm not the one going on about how classless the other team's fans are, and how "classy" we are. See my point? And yeah, all fan bases have these kind of douches, couldn't agree more -- just keep that in mind for anyone who tries to act all high and mighty about their own. Is all. Thanks for responding.
-
Your fellow Wings fans would disagree with you: That was after Game 4. That could've come out of a Pens' fan, it so summed up what we've been telling you about him.
-
Didn't say you did it -- but dig through the thread and you'll find the one I'm talking about. Point is, not a peep about it from any of you "we're all about class" types here.
-
Nah -- I've handled everything with class and humor I'd say. I'm not the one stooping to low-life attacks on posters and their family members. Might want to re-consider your thinking there, chief. Cute pic though.
-
It's amazing you can pick out a little thing like that, but ignore the "felt your mom" quote. What kind of "f'd-up" idea is right. That's beyond incredible. Everything I've said is confined to hockey and its players. I didn't directly and personally attack another poster, or his family. See the diff? Please, spare me the attitude until you start cleaning up your own house. Again, no discussion on the topic possible until you do. Remember, you're the ones who are a "cut above" right?
-
Just like you all like to bust on Pens' fans for being "classless" while letting one of your own slide with that "felt his mom" comment on this thread. You want to claim you're a cut above in the class department -- show me. Discussion over until that time. Adios.
-
Well let's see, Crosby is the leading playoffs scorer, so... yes. And Hossa stepped up in exactly one playoff game, so... yes. I mean, this is so painfully obvious I can't believe I actually have to spell it out like this.
-
Like the guy who made the momma comment, which you let slide? While turning around and busting on me for "dumb" comments. Again, you all scream the other guy's classless, while letting your own get away with the filthiest garbage of all. The "troll" is the guy who made that little statment, I'd say.
-
Again, the double standard: want me to point out Crosby's regular season numbers? Not to mention how his numbers blow away Hossa's stats in the playoffs. But posters here only want to bust on Crosby for his FINALS performance. I've seen about every Detroit playoff game -- when performance matters most. Hossa was invisible about every game except maybe one vs. the Ducks. The Pens rode Crosby to the finals, the Wings carried Hossa there. Big diff, bud. Hossa = Hockey Socialism.
-
Good gosh, the guy's been the leading scorer of the whole playoffs and you act like he's a big flop or something. As for two-way, you missed the other night when his brilliant bat of a puck -- right out of the air -- killed off a last-second charge by the Wing to even the score (Game 3). He managed to get the puck into the Detroit zone, but just enough to die and have to be played by Osgood before iceing could be called. If that's not big-time defense in the clutch, I don't know what is. But of course, you don't see things like that wearing the hater's glasses. Just saying. The guy turned 22 not long ago -- yeah he's got some maturing to do, but what were your star players doing when they were 19 or 20? Watching Power Rangers in their feetie pajamas. I'll take Crosby on my team over just about any other player in the NHL, any day. So would you, if you were being honest.
-
How am I being off topic here? I'm simply referring to Hossa and the free ride he's taken with the Wings. As in "welfare" or whatever freebie term you want to ascribe to it. No "your momma" at all -- I don't think you're grasping what's a very simple idea, whether you agree with it or not. And pardon me if I find it humorous that you all scream "classless" while chanting "Crosby Sucks!" or referring to him as a "POS" as another poster here did. And while you're criticizing Pens fans for having no class, and being total off-topic insulters, funny, I have yet to hear one poster here call out one of YOURS for posing this little nugget: THERE'S your momma" comment, and it's coming from one of YOURS. That's a real quote from a real poster here. Way to show that Detroit "class" you're always talking about huh? But I guess that's OK 'cuz he roots for the right team and all that. C'mon, let me here you defend THIS one.
-
You have a point about the Pens needing Crosby a LOT more than the Wings need Hossa -- but that's part of my point too. And Hossa needs a center like Crosby to excel -- witness what a stud he was last year against your own team. The irony is, had Hossa stayed there's a chance he makes the difference for the Pens in a game vs. Detroit -- he in fact could've collected his championship ring with the Pens after all. Now we'll never know, as he's contributed a big fat zilch this finals.
-
Want me to link you to the thread where all the Wings fans here are screaming to dump his sorry butt after this season? And speaking of stopping the drama, let's stop acting like you'd be happy for Hossa because he's such a swell guy. It would be only from spite, to rub the salt into Pittsburgh fans' wounds. Which is why there was the talk of him hoisting the Cup in Pittsburgh, by so many here. I guarantee you if the Wings lose this series, Marian Hossa becomes public whipping boy #1 in Detroit. As it is, he's one win away from cashing hockey's ultimate welfare check.
-
Hossa's been fed like a hungry baby by his wingmates the whole playoffs. Frankly I'm embarrassed for his lack of production. Last night was a prime example -- he was passed the puck, all alone in front of the Pens' backup goalie. He whiffed badly. If the game hadn't been a blowout at that point, you'd have been going wild over that goof. Nice double standard you have there, btw. Hossa gets credit for the ENTIRE playoffs, while Crosby gets singled out for just the finals. OK -- Hossa has 6 goals in four series. How many does Crosby have over the entire run? "Overall scoring leader of the NHL playoffs," anyone? Again, Hossa is Hockey Socialism.
-
You make some good points here. Crosby apparently does have things to learn, and remember, he's still barely past the legal drinking age. That's not an excuse, that's more support for what you say. I personally think they hung the C on him way too young, but since he's wearing it, he needs to start acting like it.
-
Would you really be cheering Hossa -- you really have that much admiration for the guy -- who's contributed, uh exactly what to the championship run? Even if the Wings win, what Pens fans say about Hossa would be true: he simply boarded the bus, put his feet up, and told Zetterberg and Osgood to do the driving. Have to chuckle a little, as it was just a couple days ago that Detroit fans were screaming about the NOTHING that this freeloader was contributing. And calling for a dumping of his sorry non-producing butt. (See: re-sign Hossa thread.) A Cup hoist like that by Hossa would be a victory for welfare collectors, free-government-cheese recipients, and false insurance-claim payees everywhere. Hossa = Hockey Socialism.
-
Yes, I know, yuk yuk. My bigger laugh, though, comes from the suggestion I'd be in hiding after this one, that someone put up. Better question: how many of you (who came running here to post after the game) would be posting in this thread after about, oh, 10:30 last night, if the Pens had won? I doubt any of you.
-
Yes, and nothing says "class" like a good ol' chant of "______ sucks!" You sure showed him.
-
Same reason the Pens beat Detroit two games in a row.

Pittsburgh's Immaturity After Game 4 Cost Them
BewareThePenguin replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
Again, I don't know. My thought would be that the comments did rub your team the wrong way, but they did the smart thing and STFU about it. They left it to the coach to comment on it after the game. Again, a lesson for the opposition to learn. JMHO. -

Exactly what I'm talking about, Doggy. Sounds to me like they did take the words a bit to heart. -

I don't think we were that far off each other. I said I had no idea of the effect that the Pens' comments had on Detroit -- though I can certainly see how that might fire them up a bit. And your coach did remark about how his team wouldn't talk publicly about the state of the other guys, post-game. I'm simply certain about what it did for the Pens. Hard to win games when you're spending what seemed like a third of it defending on the power play. And the majority of the penalties weren't even "necessary" such as having to hook a player who looks like he's about to score. Just mentally vacant stuff. Looked to me like a lack of focus coming in from the get-go. -

I have no idea if Detroit "took those comments to heart" or not. I do know it affected the Pens performance. That was painfully obvious. From a Pens POV -- the hope is they learned their lesson before Game 6. -

Who said they should? Nobody's saying Detroit did anything but what was right before, and during the game. The top poster is correct in his commentary. -

Why? He's pretty much on target with his comments. You don't see how pre-game mouth running takes away from during-game focus? Think there's no connection to all the stupid penalties taken? Hard to win when you give up 3 man-advantage goals, and a 4th right after a PP. When you're not concentrating on the game itself, you're concentrating on how to lose.
