    Wings MVP so far?

You've got to give it to your 'mule' Cleary and Samulesson have been big tiime clutch, but that's not what the award is for, it's for leading the way. Osgood is in the running. But if given today I'd give it to Franzen.

    ECF, Penguins vs. Hurricanes.

Good points. I rate the remaining teams. 1 Detroit 2 Raleigh 3 Pittsburgh 4 Chicago For 'cup testedness'. Prediction: The ECF will be more competitive hockey than the WCF. Particularly since the Crosby conspiracy will make sure it is. Fun to be alive at this point in the season. P. S. Love the sig.

Top 10 reasons Wings will win

    11. Because Hossa won't win the cup, but not yet.

    Pittsburgh's ANGELIC game 7 performance

In 1983 O'Halloran's, then wife, 'Gretchen' sent him out to the Windsor area's first IKEA to pick up a meatball dinner for the two of them. She beat it on him, taking their Vallhund puppy and his freshly sharpened Husqvarna across the river to Motor City to make go with a guy that made peanuts selling peanuts at the Joe but 'had time for her'... helps explain a lot don't it.

    Malkin stays with the Pens

Malkin will be 22 next year... Think about that for a minute. As a kid his size becomes a man his game will be better next year or two mark my words.

    Marian Hossa a Red Wing, 1yr, $7.45m

Who knows about the future, but for next season it's hard to imagine a better fit than Hossa. He"ll be one of your top forwards, in addition to the basic lineup that one the cup last year, and his natural style meshes perfectly with the Wings game. The rest of the leaguie is in trouble already.

Getting a little nervous, Detroit fans?

...and 4 is greater than 2 or 3... and all that really matters. Here's to a great game tonight no matter who takes the day. Enjoy the hockey boys (and girls), it might not be this good for either of us next year.

Thank you all for a wonderful time!

Will be wishing you the best tomorrow. If the Wings don't win, they're just waiting for you to watch them on Saturday. Good luck.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it...

You can find a picture of this thread in the unabridged dictionary next to the compound word "bad luck".

    Pens still alive...

An unbiased betting man would still have to take the Wings at this point for a number of reasons. I (as a Pens fan) am keeping my fingers crossed for a little more suspense. Fortunately for the players they, and not us, will get to decide the outcome.

    Pens still alive...

Well, they sure didn't prove you wrong in the first two games. I guess it's a matter of a Pen's fan (that's me) wanting to buy into the "They're inexperience showed, and they have started to adjust" theory vs. a Wings fan (you guys) accepting the "Wings on balance have showed themselves to be significantly better over the first 180 minutes" theory. If the Pens don't win Saturday night, yesterday's game 'will' be pretty meaningless.

    Pens still alive...

Nice thread guys, this is the kind of discussion that makes Wings' fans the classy group that you are. I think what we saw in games 1 & 2 was Detroit showing up, knowing what needed to be done and executing while Pittsburgh diddn't know what they were dealing with, or how to cope with this level of the game from an opponent as skilled as the Wings. By game 3 the Pens have gotten it, somewhat, figured out. Detroit, however, still has it figured out. From here on... out, I expect to see more games 'like last night' rather than the ones played last weekend. Who will come out on top should be up for grabs, with a lean toward the home ice, and subject to the all important 'first goal' momentum. We may be in for the series we were all hoping for.

    Penguins lose = New Coach?

He'd have them smoking cigarettes on the far side of the red line all season.

    Penguins lose = New Coach?

The call before the playoffs for Therrien was: get to the confrence finals and or win them and you have gotten far enough. He will be back for next year at least.

PIT columnist: Reputations falling as fast as Penguins

Collier is the best local sports 'writer' imo. He's more of a opinion guy than a beat columnist. He dose have a good point to make, as usuall.

    Good Start Wings

Your boys weathered the early storm by the Pens and held fast defensively. They were patient and took advantage of their opportunities, and then locked it down with the 2 goal lead. Here's hoping we can bounce back, learn from our mistakes (in short order) and make a great series out of it. See you again on monday.

    Malkin

Malkin has a history of failing the first time on a stage and returning the next year to pull it off. In the Russian super league he did that, and in the post season last year he was invisible but came out great over the first 2.2 rounds this year. It could be that he just dosen't have it in him this year, but only time will tell.

    Good Start Wings

True. They also started all of those series at home where they are undefeated this post-season. The wings are near unbeatable with a lead. The Pens may be as well, though you certainly wouldn't know that after tonight's game. Maybe we will get a chance to find out if that is the case at some point in the series. I can't wait for Monday either. Thanks for the responses that don't rub too hard, , and to you other guys... 'I hope we make your Tuesday suck as bad as our Sunday.'
