Anyone remember the days when the Wings led after 2 they would always close out the third without having to go to OT and lose? Remember when they were winning by a goal the lead would increase to 2? Or if they didn't score a goal they would stifle the opposition and thus the opposition wouldn't get a sniff at the tying goal? Remember the puck posession game that worked brilliantly in the 2008 playoffs? Those were the good old days that appear to be long gone and done now!

I didn't expect a Cup this year as I posted many times that this team couldn't beat San Jose or Vancouver if they drew them and lone behold they drew the hated Sharks e.g. our daddies! I would not be this angry with the team if they had won in 2009 when I was at the Joe for game 7 as then I would have just retired into the sunset after watching them hoist the cup but it didn't go that way as all I have are 4 Cups that I saw them win on TV and not live so that is why I am bitching about! What do you want us to say thanks guys for another early exit? Or how about thanks for the 2 blown 3rd period leads that cost this team a 2-1 series lead? Fans have a right to be mad at the team b/c we demand results and when you lose games that you should of won it makes it more difficult to swallow!
-
They are as they have more depth and they can keep leads and increase them as well which is something the Wings can't do. The turning point in this series was when Bertuzzi took the penalty in game 1 and its been downhill ever since!
-
I switched over the the NBA game as this is pure Bulls*** and its 2 years in a row they fall behind 0-2 and maybe they'll just get swept this year! What a pure CHOKE job by the Wings!
-
You see this is a perfect example of why the Sharks are better than the Wings e.g. they can keep a 1-0 lead and extend it whereas the Wings f***en choke it away! This is f***en brutual and unacceptable as 2 years in a row they lose to these guys.
-
The switch has been on off since June 2009 game 7.
-
Fire Babcock in the offseason as this team will win no more Cups under his direction!
-
Game set match already guys! So anybody else still believe in this sorry ass team? Can't say I didn't tell ya so!
-
They will probably lose in regulation or if it does go to OT they should just forfeit the game as we all know what the result will be.

Red Wings terrible playoff OT record since 2000
LeonardSankar replied to redwinger4747's topic in General
Yep hence when they go to OT I always assume loss b/c they just don't get it done. Even in games where they outplay their opponent they lose and when they get outplayed they lose e.g last night. So yes they can't afford to go to OT b/c they will lose! -
Actually if the series is 2-2 then last nights loss will loom large b/c it will be the difference b/t being up 3-1 or tied 2-2 and having another tough road game. So yea last night's loss was huge b/c they blew the f***in lead and thus a golden opportunity to move ahead.
-
They won't b/c every team I root for loses in OT e.g Wings last night and also the Kings in first round and Hawks in game 7. Wings can't get any breaks even when they are not playing!
-
No they won't come back down from 0-2 as I don't think they can come back from 0-1 as I have already written them off as a result of what I've seen thus far!
-
Vancouver has played worse than Detroit did last night but they will most likely pull this one out in OT but when the Sharks tied it up last night everyone knew it was over. You see this is a perfect example of why the Wings won't win the Cup this year!
-
Yes I understand you want to stay positive but this bulls*** started before the playoffs as the Wings have not played their game since 2008 as it slowly faded in the 08/09 season and then they sucked last season and this year they have sucked since the US Thanksgiving. So what do you want us to say we are happy that this team continues to give up 40+ shots per game? Are we supposed to be happy that this team struggles to score? Are we supposed to be happy that our team takes dumb penalties when trying to protect a 1 goal lead in the third period? Maybe I wouldn't be so bitter if they hadn't of lost game 7 in 09 but I am pissed until they win another cup!
-
Well then tell Babcock to scratch Bertuzzi if they want to stay out of the box as he is as useless as they come in that regard! I'll be switching over to the Heat & Celtics on ABS the moment they fall behind as this is just a pure Bulls*** series. Those guys have owned us sice last spring and its really getting on my nerves.

WCSF Game 1 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Sharks 2 (OT)
LeonardSankar replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I don't know why you guys are acting surprised b/c did you not see the Wings struggle against teams like the Sharks in the regular season? Did you not see all the blown leads or flat out blowouts? Did you not see all the games they got shutout or lost 2-1? They were playing dead all night and still had a chance for the steal but Todd Bertuzzi had to take a dumb penalty and thus give the series completely away! If anyone thinks the Wings win this series they are a serious Homer b/c the proof is in the pudding as the Wings puck posession game no longer exists e.g. 40+ shots on goal? This team was flawed all year long and they have been flawed since June 2009 when they let Cindy Crybaby hoist the Cup at the Joe! -
WCSF Game 1 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Sharks 2 (OT)
LeonardSankar replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
You mean that Bertuzzi gave them the game with his stupid penalty! They get great goaltending and still can't win! They have a 1-0 lead and still can't win! This sound familiar e.g. regular season games when they lose 1-0 or 2-1! This series is over! -
WCSF Game 1 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Sharks 2 (OT)
LeonardSankar replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Game set & series match! What did I tell ya guys the Sharks are our daddies! We can't beat them even if we have a chance they give it away with stupid penalties! Sharks in 5 or maybe 4! -
WCSF Game 1 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Sharks 2 (OT)
LeonardSankar replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
They had a chance to steal this game but dumbass Bert had to take that stupid penalty. So basically no chance to win on the road in OT and thus after they lose Sunday they'll be down 0-2 at this rate! Someone please tell Babs to scratch Bert and insert either Madonno, or Draper! -

I'll definitely complain if the Wings have to play Vancouver in the conference finals but I don't think they get that far. -
WCSF Game 1 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Sharks 2 (OT)
LeonardSankar replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I am not very confident as I think the Wings will lose tonight as the Sharks will probably come out flying and Jimmy Howard is not a game stealing goalie. I think the only chance the Wings have in this series is if the Sharks have goaltending issues and hand it over to the Wings. -
Well in all 4 of their cup runs the Wings have received some help in the form of another team getting upset and thus gave them an easier matchup but with both San Jose and now Vancouver about to advance our Cup chances appear to be done! If you look back in 1997 the Wings were the 3 seed but the 2 seed Dallas got upset by Edmonton in the first round and thus the Wings drew Anaheim in the second round and promptly swept them and thus were fresh & ready for Colorodo in the CF. Then you fast foward a year to 1998 and the Wings are seeded 3 again and then this time Edmonton upsets the 2 seeded Avs and thus Wings get St. Louis in the second round and a 6 game series win and thus still fresh enough to beat Dallas in the CF. Then you fast forward to 2002 and thus the Wings are the 1 seed and they beat everbody who could bother them in the West as no major upsets but that year the upsets came in the East as the high seeded Bruins, Leafs & Flyers all failed to make it to the finals and thus the Wings got an overachieving Carolina team as they wouldn't have wanted to play the Leafs as the refs would have ripped the Leafs off. Then you fast forward to 2008 and the major upset was Dallas taking down 2 seeded San Jose in the second round and the Wings get Dallas over the hated Sharks and that was a huge break. Now this year with drawing the Sharks in the second round it appears even if they somehow manage to get by the Sharks they will have nothing left for the Canucks and all their speed. So basically I don't forsee them getting out of the Western Conference b/c they needed either both or 1 of Vancouver or San Jose to bite the dust but instead they are basically screwed.
-
I guess your assuming Nashville will beat Vancouver? I don't think the Sharks will beat the Canucks if they get that matchup so yea I wouldn't be surprised if they beat the Wings but they ain't winning a Cup as I'll take Vancouver or even Washington over San Jose if they get those matchups.
-
So with the first round almost complete who are the Wings most afraid of in each conference? I say the most dangerous teams in the West are: San Jose - too much offense and will be tough to stop Vancouver - if they beat the Hawks and win second round series they will be tough in the Conference finals as too much speed. Nashville - very tough to score on and Pekka Rinne may steal series and they have had Wings number this year. Chicago - still defending Cup Champs and can be a handfule e.g. ask Vancouver. Los Angeles - shouldn't be too much of a problem but then again they are young and can give teams fits. East: Pittsburgh - if they meet in the Finals its the same political BS as 09 where Garry Buttman wants Cindy Crybaby to win a Cup! Washington - Always dangerous with Ovie and they appear to have a reliable goaltender. Boston - their lack of scoring depth will hinder them but have a goaltender who can steal a series. Tampa Bay - they can score but they lack experience & defense and thus a year or 2 away. Philly - too injured and goaltending too poor to beat the Wings. Buffalo - scrappy team but not enough depth and Ryan Miller is only hope to take down Wings.
