I say the Wings finish 4th and win 1 round and thats it b/c they can't play defense as the odd man rushes & breakaways are going to kill this team come playoff time especially against a team like Vancouver. I don't even think the Wings can handle the Hawks or possibly the Blues, Preds and Coyotes.
-
So how do you guys think the Wings will go the rest of the way now with all these injuries? I saw the finish no better than 4th in the conference as the Blues and possibly Predators will overtake them to go along with the Canucks.
-
Lets face it if the Wings don't have home ice for the Western playoffs they won't see the Finals so finishing 4th where I think they finish 2nd will not get the job done as they need home ice. As for the Finals the only team I fear in the East is the Penguins as I think the Wings can take either the Rangers or Bruins.

Well I am sure if the call ups from Grand Rapids showed them more in the few minutes they get then Babcock would play them more but year in and year out its the same old thing and then when 1 of them gets traded they become great e.g Ville Lieno. Lets see this time next year if any of our so called Grand Rapids blue chippers are playing with the big club. If this keeps up why not have Kenny Holland unload these guys for established players as he did give up a first for a no nammer in Quency!
-
I live in Southern Ont and don't have Center Ice and I don't subscribe to Sportsnet via my Bell TV and thus cannot watch the game unless I find an online stream which usually suck. Oh well I don't anticipate them winning this one and thus I won't get the chance to smash s*** up after they piss me off again.
-
As it stands right now I have 0 faith in any of the Grand Rapids call ups doing anything for us this year if called up e.g. Nyquist, Tatar, Mursak, Smith. Even Emmerton who is in his first year sucks. With that being said I demand that Kenny Holland use the cap space to sign Ryan Sutter and Zack Praise in the offseason b/c relying on the Grand Rapids guys is no longer an option anymore!

Well I am 1 for 1 in this thread and will be most likely 2 for 2 after the loss to the Canucks tonight but I hope I am wrong.
-
Without Pavel I think its a given the Canucks win this one as the Wings will struggle to average 2 goals a game without Pavel.
-
Well currently I am batting .1000 with my final 22 game W-L predictions and I hope I am wrong about tomorrow's loss to Vancouver.
-
Well the first of 2 or more losses in a row tonight as no way they can beat Vancouver without Pavel.

Kyle Quincey traded to Detroit in 3 team trade (TBL & COL)

Well its been nothing but bad news for the Wings today as first Pavel gets hurt, then they trade their first round pick for a journeyman castoff and if thats not enough they go into to Chicago and lose tonight. -

So why are the Wings giving up a first round pick for a guy they drafted in the 4th round and then wound up waving for nothing? If he was that good to begin with they would not of waived him but now you give up a first for a cast off? Is Kenny Holland just feeling sympathy for Stevie Yzerman or does our team not believe in drafting in the first round? Brian Burke wouldn't of made this deal for God's sake! -
With Dats out I pretty much now what the result is now as I wasn't too confident before the injury and now I now our 6 game win streak ends tonight and the 23 game home win streak ends on Thursday.
-
Actually now with the injury to Pavel they will be lucky to just hold on to the second seed as I don't think they even go 14-8. And finishing second as opposed to first will suck b/c it will mean a tougher second round opponent b/c San Jose will most likely beat the #6 seed and thus I don't want to play the Sharks again. As for the presidents trophy bringing bad luck, well the last time the Wings won the presidents trophy they won the Cup so I'll take that over a possible #2 or #4 seed in this years case.
-
My rational for the loss to Anaheim is that it comes on the heels of a back to back with LA so I would imagine they drop 1 and win the other and I don't trust the Wings in the Shark tank so I'll chalk that up as a loss. Also I do realize the Wings will win some of the games that I slated as losses but they will also lose some that I put as wins so it will most likely even itself out and they finish 14-8 or 15-7 at best. Just hope some OT losses help them out b/c like I said before Vancouver has an easier schedule.
-
Hey I still had us at 14-8 so thats not that bad as I just don't like the tough road matchups against playoff teams let alone bottom feeder teams as we all know how the Wings treat those games!
-
Well I don't get critical unless there is a valid reason e.g. when the team starts to play poorly as I don't tolerate it. Also it doesn't help the fact that I am still bitter over being in attendance in game 7 2009 and watching them lose to the Penguins as I am still not over it and won't be until they win another Cup. As far as the regular season goes well we better hope the losses are OT ones as they will need those points to hold off the Canucks who don't appear to be losing any regulation games and thus I don't want to play them if they have home ice for the West final.
-
How is this post pessimistic? All I did was speculate the Wings record in their final 22 games. Did you want me to be a Homer and say they go 22-0? They will win b/t 14-15 games give or take as we all know they tend to take their feet off the gas pedal.
-
I figured I would stick to the script of them winning alot at home and being medicore on the road but like I said I don't see them better than 14-8 as if they win more on the road then they probably drop more on the road. That still probably won't get them the top seed b/c the Canucks have a cupcake schedule to close out the season.
-
Will its a huge game with regards to getting the top seed in the conference as I think the Wings do need it if they want to beat the Canucks if they do in fact meet up in the West finals. I would imagine the Wings will drop the game at Chicago tomorrow and then have a tough test at home with those cry babies from Vancouver.
-
Great win as they were lucky but kept getting ripped off by the refs e.g 2 no calls on highsticks and then the non call on Darren Helm going for the empty net.
-
Get ready for OT guys! Wings need a TO as the Sharks are about to tie this game up!
-
I say the Wings don't even get to OT in this one as the Sharks score 2 in the 3rd to win 3-2 as they haven't looked good since the first and they can't seem to score.
-
No call on Sharks?
-
To make matters worse is that St.Losers is winning and the Canucks will beat Edmonton tonight so the top seed is in serious jeapordy.
