This is what I've been scratching my head about when listening to all the experts pick the Pens...they learned how to lose in 6 to Detroit... Sure they learned how tough it is, and how to win 2 games...but not 4...sheesh.

Yes...I read that Dave Jackson, Dan O'Halloran, Kevin Pollock, and Eric Furlatt have been dropped from the rotation after the Conference Finals...so it appears that at least for this season, we've been O'Halloran'd for the last time...but don't be surprised if we take a 2-0 series lead and they call him in for Game 3.

Well, I'm not ready to give the guy a parade...he's been good, but there were a couple times in the Anaheim series where he made the wrong decision and it resulted in a goal against. He'll get way way better...hell, the improvement in Lilja's game between this season and two years ago has been absolutely mastadonic...Ericsson will surely get much better over the next season or two, but I'm interested in seeing what kind of level he might reach...could be a MAJOR component for a long time...could be a lifetime 5-6 D-Man...who knows...

I don't follow...what's the excuse? Uhr...I think more than anything, yesterday was an example of our depth. Three great players, including two of the best +/- players in the league (Lids and Dats) were out for game 4. Our best forward, our best defenseman, and our best face-off man were gone and we managed to put a thrashing on Chicago in their arena. That's depth...If Gonchar and Malkin and (???-not sure who their best faceoff man is) were all injured, Pitt would likely get run the **** over...

I know I shouldn't bother with this clown...but DUDE... The Penguins ran ROUGH SHOT over the Eastern Conference last year, and through two games against Detroit, couldnt score ONE goal...NOT ONE GOAL...It was the same story when we ran into the gang-buster Dallas Stars in the WCF...Morrow, the stud of their stable had like 1 shot on goal after the first two games...the Canes defense is a no-name squad FULL of 5-6 d-men and Cam Ward has gone **** up...your team DOES NOT scare us... And as far as offense goes, WE had the most goals scored in the league this year...not the Penguins...the Red Wings...

As far as this memo goes, I read a statement from Stephen Walkom talking about how how Havlat hadn't touched the puck, etc., and he's sure that's how his officials saw it...blaw blaw blaw, yada yada yada...these guys can do no wrong...Walkom also thought O'Hallaran's interference call on Holmstrom for having his stick in the crease was "a GREAT call!" and was proud that his officials are sharp enough to catch it in real time, etc...ugh.

If they wanna go after our stars, that's just fine...all I ask is that they keep it as clean as the Kronwall hit. Good luck catching our stars so vulnerable, though...if that was easy to do, Pav would have been decapitated fifty times over in the Anaheim series...catching him in a vulnerable spot is like trying to catch a shaved, greased cat. Havlat on the other hand...made it WAY to easy.

I like Ho$$a as much as the next guy, but as much as we ALL love him...let's try to keep one thing in mind...HOSSA IS A HIRED GUN...like a mercenary. I doubt he'll be back next year, because of the cap, but for now he's using us as much as we are using him...Maltby is a career Wing... I found out we signed Hossa when I was in the NHL store in NYC and they had a #81 Hossa jersey on display...Marian's younger brother Marcel used to wear 81 for the NY Rangers, so I had honestly thought we signed him...and I asked the guy working there "Why is this guy a big deal? ...That's not Marian is it?"

I'm not saying that what they do isn't hard...but there's no style or finesse...it's just a street fight...they couldn't go 10 rounds, and they couldn't beat a good boxer without choking them to near-unconciousness...there's no comparison in the conditioning of the two... About the topic at hand...I hated the timing of that fight...Carcillo vs. Talbot turned out to be a horrible idea...I don't think any of the hits in that fight were devastating, but Koko didn't land a single one for himself...either way, we're lucky the momentum didn't swing...and I appreciate that Kopecky fought him like a man (gloves, sticks, and helmets gone before a hit was thrown)...he had to know he was taking one for the team...had it been a thug like Parros, I would've been irate...in summation, I hope we pick our spots better next time, but if they wanna trade their key players for our scrubs, I'll take it more times than not.
