Leafs earned that win but holy f*** were the Wings sloppy. I've never seen them give it away/ice it that much.

Speaking of the banner, anyone know where to get a replica of the '08 version? I have the one that covers the previous ten championships but I would love to get one to commemorate this year's.

I had Center Ice last year (not through DirecTV but I'm assuming it's pretty much the same across the board) and they showed quite a few Wings games in HD. Not every broadcast was in HD but it seemed like the Wings had the most out of any team by far and pretty much every home game was in HD.

This sucks of course but teams know there are always going to be diehards who will pay so they'll continue to do it. The Flames to my knowledge haven't done it yet but I won't be surprised if they do.

The Canadiens. I was born in Montreal and spent my first 14 years there so I grew up watching them. I became a Wings fan in '96 so as much as I like to see the Habs do well Detroit is (and will always be) my favorite team. Still, in my opinion there's no better place to watch a hockey game than Montreal. Just incredible passion and atmosphere.

Yeah I went to game three in '04 rocking my Yzerman jersey and my hat. As soon as I stepped into the SportChek zone the entire place started to boo. Wings scored first that game so of course I jump up and go crazy and am immediately pelted with garbage and beer (and several threatening remarks). When the Flames took the lead a guy beside me literally started screaming in my face to the point that the ushers had to step in (not that I asked them to as I just sat there). It has not been nearly as bad at subsequent games, and in 2007 Mr. Franzen provided me with sufficient revenge. Nothing was more satisfying than going crazy with sheer joy while the rest of the building went deathly quiet. And yeah Flames fans are brutal, made more so by their complete abandoning of the team during their playoff dry spell only to come crawling back when they got decent again.

Agree 100% with everything quoted. Every time I hear that crap about how the Flames have some of the best fans in the NHL, I think of the pre 2004 era with 14,000 people in the building (which they still reference as the library to this day), headlines in the paper begging people to buy season tickets(with the threat of relocation if they didn't) and the "Young Guns." I honestly want them to miss the playoffs for a while again to see how many people stick around. And don't get me started on Roger Millions. I can handle homerism but he was just over the top in his love of the Flames. Thank Christ he's no longer their PBP guy. Obviously the 04 series has a lot to do with why I hate them but it's disgusting how the fans abandoned them only to come crawling back when they got decent again.

I e-mailed them more than a week ago and they haven't replied so I guess I'll try the number. At least I finally got the Freep book to tide me over. That will keep me entertained on my flight to Vegas on Saturday.

I think it's a solid pick. I've read some good things about him and though he might not make it for a while it's good to have a backup plan in case any of the other goalie prospects flame out.

That's what I always think about. He still has great numbers but he'd probably be top three in scoring if he was completely healthy the last two years. Still, great to see the recognition start to show up.

I did the online ordering and I'm not sure either. I didn't get a confirmation e-mail but when I was done filling out my info it said something like "form submitted successfully" so I'm assuming it went through but who the hell knows.

Got the roster shirt off of eBay. Ordered the locker room hat and shirt from River City Sports so hopefully they'll ship that soon (I haven't gotten any back order notice or anything so I guess that's a good sign). Also ordered some June 5th papers off of eBay as well.

Between this and losing the Olympics, CBC is just getting stupider by the minute.
