I don't think we need to be worrying about winning another cup this year. We should be more focused on winning the President's Trophy and winning the season series vs. the Blackhawks.

well let's see... that's not at all a fair question as the only other person who has ever played in the NHL at that age was Gordie Howe. Chelios isn't hurting us by being on the roster, one of the strong points of the wings is that their younger guys don't have to play. Datsyuk wasn't even in the NHL until 24 years old, and Zetterberg was 23. And really, Chelios is holding his own, he's taking league minimum, and he's able to provide leadership for the young guys. He's one of the top conditioned guys in the sport, and as long as he can play, he will be welcomed back.

this is kind of a different way to have got drawn into hockey, but when i was in first grade ('94-95) my friend gave me a chris osgood hockey card of chris osgood. i then started collecting hockey cards myself, and became a fan of hockey as well.

I completely agree with Kenny right here that Chelios should be our next priority. If anyone watched the post-game on local Detroit TV after we won the Cup, Chelios said "he'd definitely back for next year to hopefully do it again." If Chelios wants to come back, he will come back. At this point of his career he is invaluable in training our younger players, and I truly believe that experience will be worth more than $525,000 for those players. As longer as Chelios' body can handle it, I will gladly welcome him back. Also he has to outlast Todd Bertuzzi... so until Bertuzzi retires I expect Cheli to play
