I hope that this board doesn't get like so many other boards..where people, when taking a second to use a critical eye on things, get called horrible fans and doomsday prophets of a franchise. If you don't look at things with a critical eye, you can easily get caught with your pants down later..it's a part of maintaining anything that's good and to make things that are good, better. Now..it's not like we are the ones making roster and on-ice strategy decisions...but I fully support discussions about now that (A) happened..what should (B) be? I can bet you that that is what Holland is doing himself right now. We all love the Wings. And I know that oftentimes if people are going to be critical about ANYTHING..it's going to be about the things they love and love the most. So long as it is constructive criticism, I am all for it. Spin-o-rama - Just sounds too darn fruity and basketball-like. Replace it with anything more manly/less basketball-ish. Oh and speaking of Pierre and that whole bunch.....if we can get the rest of the NHL saying our players' names correctly..that'd be sweet. ie FRAN-ZIN, WHOD-LER -Z

Hey everyone, I've been out of town in the Fayettville, NC area for a few weeks for work (I'm a pilot) and will still be around for the next few weeks. I've been having to go to the bar to watch wings games and I've run into some Wings fans there..but I was wondering if there is anywhere around here that Wings fans meet to watch the playoffs. -Z

Hey guys, I was trying to find some of the good hockey commercials of the past and am having trouble finding two of my favorite series of commercials. If someone can find some links please let me know! 1) The "Nothing intimidates like Red Wings hockey" series 2) The series that would show a fan at different points of the season (like "game 1", "game 25", "game 80") experiencing an injury without flinching and the injuries getting worse and worse as the season goes on. I remember one of them being a finger slammed in the door..another being, I think, hot antifreeze spraying him across the face from his car, etc etc Thanks to all! -Z

I'd say yes. I myself and I'm sure the Wings are hoping that their Jan/Feb skid is long gone and won't turn into anything like last years Feb catastrophe. I expect the Wings to hit the ice strong tonight despite still being down Franzen and Holmstrom. They know they have to play hard to counter the playoff type mentality I'd expect Nashville to bring tonight..especially since a game against last year's champs and division rivals will likely be the closest thing to a playoff-type atmosphere the Preds will probably see the rest of the season. I'd say the Wings counter a 5 game winless streak with a 5th straight victory tonight. 4-2 -Z

I lived 2 hours north of Dallas for a little over a year and, while I had the NHL Center Ice hockey package...I'd watch some of the Wings vs Dallas games on FSN-Dallas for the HD feed and I remember being quite annoyed by the Dallas broadcasters. I honestly can't remember what it was that bothered me so much about them..but I definitely started opting for the non-HD, non-full screen feed of FSN-Detroit to listen to Ken and Mickey. As for Phoenix, I think I remember having really no big opinion either way. Didn't one of our old broadcasters go over there? I vaguely remember Panger giving me a bit of a general "eck" feeling when he does national games. I'm going out of town for the rest of the week, but I'll have to switch over to some of their games while the Wings game is on a commercial break and update my opinions soon. BTW, Mickey is the man (edited for Panger)

If you upgrade your cable package to get the NHL Network (not the Center Ice package...which IS amazing and is quite a steal price-wise btw)..they grab the Hockey Night in Canada feed on Saturdays and occasional games during the week.
