Well considering Stuart is down & could be out for a while, Ozzie's numbers are through the roof, and Conklin is consitantly inconsistant, I'd say we need some help back there. So how about YOU educate ME, and tell me that the statement i just made is false.

Franzen is a keeper for sure. He's had 2+ good seasons with the team. Hudler on the other hand is having a career year. Who knows if he'll be this good next year. I think it's too much of a risk to have a 3 mil+ cap hit on Hudler. As much as i love him as a player, i think the Wings can use him to get either a goalie or a defenseman. His value is at the highest it probably will ever get. I think he needs alot of help from his linemates to succeed and i doubt he'll find guys like Sammy and Val anywhere else.

how can you people not be somewhat concerned with 12 goals in 2 games against key WC teams...maybe i was wrong in addressing the goalies, but something has to be done. it doesnt get any easier after the all-star break (@ CBJ, DAL, @ WSH) Now's the time to see what this team is made of and if they really WANT to win 2 straight cups. Because quite frankly, I don't feel comfortable being a 4th seed or even a 3rd seed should the team start to falter. The PK on the road is sickening and if Ozzie's GAA doesn't drop, i'd say start Conks from March onward.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because its nearing the end of a road trip and the all-star break is here, and the D is banged up... But can we really get by with Ozzie and Conks? Ozzie's GAA is through the roof and I have to wonder how his groin is holding up. Ty has his good nights but clearly he can have bad ones too. Bad games just can't be tolerated in the playoffs though... Do I see Nick Backstrom in the future?? Comments? Thoughts?

It seems like everyone is getting into a frenzy on here about the start the wings are having. Phrases such as "Stanley Cup Hangover" and "Most Boring Champions" are being thrown around this site and the media. Really we are in excellent shape! Some stats..... -3rd in the league (2nd in WC) behind SJ and NYR -Best PP in the league by almost 8% -2nd in the league in Goals For -Best Road Record in NHL -And 1st in the Central by 6 pts The only not so great part is the Goals Against (52) and thats 13th in the NHL. So why all the freaking out? 11-2-3 is a pretty darn good record given the fact most of our games have been on the road.
