Anybody think this team is looking similar to the '08 Tigers? By means of trying to load up on all star players and not enough on defense or team chemistry? maybe too many egos in the locker room??

Everyone was hating on the Leafs at the beginning of the year..but in reality, they've done pretty well for themselves. Hagman and Antropov as well as Grabovski are having great starts! and for a team picked to be one of the worst, its exciting hockey! THe hit was bad though...deserves 2 game min. suspension. It reminded me alot of the hit on Patrice Bergeron of Boston last year vs. Philly....

I think Semin is totally right about Kane. Kane is one of the best players in the league game in and game out. The kid plays hard and other than Toews, has no real offensive threat on his team. Havlat is always hurt so thats been the norm. Kane deserved rookie or the year. Crosby? Debatable.

On the flipside.... I think the issue here is simply timing and productivity. We see guys that score big time goals in minor and junior hockey and then can't produce in the Pros. The game is so different in terms of speed and experience. For example, look at Stamkos on TB..he's JUST starting to rack up a few points and its already November pretty much.. As much as I like Abdelkader and Leino, I think if you try to rush them, they won't be as productive as hoped. Guys like Crosby and Kane who can come right out of the Minors/Junior are very few and far between.

SO you'd get rid of Sammy, Malts and Mac on the offense? I like that 4th line but i think you keep Samuelson pu on the third line. Leino's role is to be one of those guys that plays when someone else is hurt. He'll spend this year in the minors then next year, tear it up in the BIGS. On defense...clearly Lebda needs a break or SOMETHING.

Man am i pumped for all the hockey games today...However there really aren't too many appealing games on the schedule....Which games will be the best?? (besides DET-CHI) Normally Toronto-Ottawa would be a good game but they both are struggling.. Montreal-Anaheim is probably the best early game. Dallas-Washington has potential and Vancouver-Edmonton is probably the best late game. Thoughts??
