Puck on net I guess. Chance for rebounds, very small chance for a misplay? Maybe he was thinking Homer was lucky enough to get one, why not him?
-
I would say unlikely unless Lids stays on until he is Chelios age and starts playing on the 2nd or 3rd pairing.

NHL.com shows the Sharks as winning as well, hahahahahaha. That was an absolutely amazing way to end that game.

I appreciate Bert now having less finish than Filpulla. In reality he hasn't been playing badly, but he has had so many missed opportunities that it makes it seem like he is playing poorly at times.

Best day in the history of the NHL will be....T

I thought the only bad thing about tonight was calling a few things too inconsistantly. Both of the instances that you could ***** about were times that should not have been goals. The first one was frozen for long enough to be a whistle, the second was a bit of an early whistle but there was not even a conclusive angle that would have made it a goal. There weren't any huge issues like the high stick in game 1, so in that sense it might have even been above-par officiating today. -
Are you ******* kidding me?

Using hfboards as an example of any fanbase is a huge mistake, pretty sure it contains the worst of all teams.

The Bandwagon has come on strong at the end of a successful season I think, although there will be more Wings fans in Phoenix than there would be in any other city.

5th!!! FANTASTIC play by Cleary and Zetterberg.
-
Nashville is officially 7th.
-
LA Wins. 0 pts = 7th, 1 pt = 6th, 2 pts = 5th.
-
Gonna be a goal.
-
Eaves!! Good transition play. Go to the net, score.
-
Kings get 1 point to keep them ahead of Nashville. If Nashville loses they are 7th, if they win they can still be anywhere from 5th to 7th. Wings can now get 5th without relying on anyone else if they win tomorrow.

OV has 4 more EN than Crosby does, Crosby has 9 more games. At a .69 G/G rate, those 9 games make 6 more goals. Ovechkin is the better goal scorer. Crosby is showing that he is closing the gap, but has done nothing to prove he can outpace Ovechkin.
-
Means get more points than the other two teams in the games remaining. Simple as that, other teams hold the tiebreakers.
-
As much as I love riding the Crosby hate bandwagon, it's a nice move if he really did want to give Guerin the goal, regardless of whether that was what made them change it.

Wait what? Hossa was the best Penguin on the ice in the '08 finals, I can't fathom how you could say he didn't show up that year. Also just because Z and Dats have gotten hardware in the past doesn't mean that they are suddenly exempt from whatever standards you hold Hossa to. I remember last year when a significant part of LGW was ridiculing Pittsburgh fans for hating on Hossa so much. Funny how things change and now a lot of people on LGW use Hossa as a scapegoat for last year and don't like the guy for not showing up/leaving/going to the Blackhawks.

Wings haven't put up 300+ since 05-06. Also I think Niemi is a lot less consistent than Howard, though they are both good goalies when on their game. Huet and Osgood are both playing baaaaad in the recent games for each. This season was tough to watch through a lot of it but has been incredibly rewarding in the past few weeks. Hopefully they play well in the playoffs, the way they have played they have a legit chance to go take it all.

Wait... fan voting? Ovechkin has it locked up. Lidstrom easily deserves it among those nominees.

Having another Filpulla at wing doesn't seem good? Being realistic, if he can be a decent playmaker like Fil, it will be very handy with guys like Hudler, Tatar, etc who are (hopefully) more goal-scoring oriented. At the moment it doesn't seem great because of how our lines are working out this season, but if the Wings have enough depth in the coming years it would be great to see another very good scoring 3rd line like Hudler-Fil-Sammy was.
-
Haven't the Wings been scoring at like a 3.3 G/G rate since all of the injured guys have come back (Franzen most importantly)? That would be 2nd in the NHL, even if they weren't quite at that rate all season, it would probably be good enough without Hudler.
-
I'd say yes. At least this year, because Luongo has had some REALLY bad games this year. Realistically though Howard did seem like he needed some rest, no harm in seeing how Osgood would do unless we were still down fighting with Colorado and Calgary. Now we know, and can go forward with Howard in confidence.

Haha, Quincey scores. 2-1, Avs trail.

Afinogenov at 1.5 is a pipe dream. He makes under 1m right now because he has 2 down years in Buffalo, but after this year (and proving that he doesn't need Kovalchuk to carry him) he will probably be back up to around 3m. Also Atlanta will be trying hard to keep him as he is their #1 player now. If Bert re-signed he would probably demand a slight raise because of his numbers and not getting any money from Anaheim after this year, but he said he would take less money to stay here so that is why I say slight. Value-wise I don't see Abby as higher than Eaves or Miller, I know the latter two are on NHL minimum contracts right now but I feel their play could get them both decent raises. Abby was valuable but wasn't really a star while he was up here, he might be able to be kept at 0.850m.
