Wouldn't acquiring him for anyone like Leino, Lebda etc put us in an even worse cap situation? We will have to move someone with higher than a league minimum salary as it is, unless we have lingering injuries until the playoffs.

Khan's forward lines are fantastic based on their potential, each line has been on fire at one time or another. Also leaves Miller to switch for any of the wings, and he has shown himself to be quite competent in most situations.

Helm does great work in that corner. Good pickup on the rebound by Eaves.

I think Osgood has a legitimate point, but he is also not playing as well as Howard. He should be getting starts slightly more frequently but he is clearly out backup goaltender currently. As long as he is right and he is ready for the playoffs though - I won't complain. Before anyone says anything about making the playoffs, this team is good enough to make the playoffs no matter which goalie is in the net.

I think we might see Tatar up to fill in for injuries a bit next season, and based on how he does in those opportunities (and how he's doing in the AHL) we might or might not see him as a normal fixture 2 seasons from now. I'm looking forward to seeing him on the Wings though.

Kopy is a -8 on a team as good as Chicago. Leino is a -8 on a (currently) worse Detroit team, as well as having twice as many points with a huge 6 over Kopy's 3. Leino sucks, but Kopy sucks more.

Osgood. He is continuing to look mediocre like he did last year in the regular season. I would be fine with him as a backup, which seems like how the situation is developing with Howard playing as well as he is. Lidstrom, while not producing offensively, is still playing great defensively. Dats has been playing fairly well after he had a dry streak, helped by Bert heating up a bit (which goes to show that even great players need good people to play with). Leino has been slightly disappointing, but he is still a rookie. I would bet that once we get most of our core back he will start looking good again when he has better linemates to work with and not as much responsibility is on his shoulders.

Thank god Eaves isn't out.
