I think they are allowed to have him in GR for 2 weeks and they'll probably use that time, meaning that he'd be back on the Wings directly after the Olympics.

I think I remember reading that Zetterberg and Alfredsson would be alternates. Not 100% sure on that but it would make sense.

They've been around for years, always playing the same way and teams haven't figured out how to shut them down. Only thing that has happened is they've learned to be more effective with every passing season. And they were actually pretty good last playoffs, they both had 10 points in 10 games. They deserve some respect. Daniel would be right up there with Henrik if he hadn't been injured. They were absolutely sick against the Leafs.. and they've been playing pretty amazing against some really good teams too. Ovechkin is going to win the Art Ross but I hope Henrik can stay in the top 3, maybe get him a Hart nomination.

Shoulda said "Osgood will be a backup goalie by the trade deadline" I said similar things many times before the season started. I'll gladly admit I was WAY off when it comes to Howard.

Just increase the OT to 10 mins (but no 3-on-3 that's silly), that's the most fun part anyway and it would make SO's much less likely to happen.

I for one think he's playing great hockey and is well worth his cap hit this season.. sure, I'd like him to be underpaid like Zetterberg was for years and years, but it doesn't always work out that way. Fil looked overpaid at the beginning of his deal, looks about right this year, and in a year or two it could even look like a bit of a steal if he keeps improving. He's also a proven playoff performer and a cool guy.

Don't forget Staal, he missed almost exactly the same kind of shot except it was on his backhand.

The best news there is Kronwall imo.. it looked really bad and I was sure he would be out for a while. Not going to completely breathe out yet, I'm sure he'll be checked out before getting cleared. With Homer back in the lineup our PP should improve. With Franzen back.. hopefully we can score some goals.

Completely disagree, I wish the break started tomorrow. These players need a fresh start, they need to get rid of bad habits and they need to clear their heads. It's not easy when you have a game every other day for months and months to turn things around just like that. Remember Ozzie getting that time off last year and coming back so much better? That's what this whole team needs right now.

He scored in what I think is his only SO attempt this year. Flip is one of the few players that have actually improved this season compared to previous years, and many nights he's one of our better players.

Lack of puck possession. It's mainly the passing game I feel that is bad.. too many giveaways, too many passes behind players or bouncing passes that can't be controlled.

Toskala+Blake make more together than Giguere, so they're actually dropping salary with that move.

I think we've won like 4 out of 10 shootouts or something similar. It's not great but not that terrible either. The big problem is letting games get to SO's. It feels like the Wings usually play pretty good in OT's but can never put the game away.

Those were nice shootout moves by Crosby and Malkin. If that was Datsyuk and Z who did that you'd be all over them and not saying anything about the goaltender. Howard got us a point. He did not "blow it" in the SO, it was simply a case of the ice ruining Pavel's attempt and Babcock deciding to go with Williams (wtf) as the 2nd shooter. How about giving Flip a chance to go 2nd? Datsyuk, Flip, Bert sounds like a good SO lineup to me. Maybe Zetterberg inserted 2nd or 3rd depending on what kind of game he's had. Sooner or later we have to start winning games, many of them and in a row, but right now a point is okay. Sucks about Kronwall though, I have a feeling his season could be over.

Seriously. People have been praising Stuart's play this season, rightfully so, and he is still a -9! I can't imagine the Red Wings without Lids.. here's to hoping he signs a 2-year deal in the summer.
