To be honest I think the puck hit the outside of the post, still good work by Howie to get his bad over there though.

I don't know why I ever pick Toronto to win.. I guess sometimes you gotta go with an upset, and they were so close to pulling it off tonight, but of course they had to go and lose anyway. Bad day for me, hopefully the rest of the weekend makes up for it.

Oh damn it feels nice to win in regulation. Lidstrom is on fire, Euro-twins seem to be finding their legs and their chemistry, Howard had another strong game.. some good stuff to take from this game, but still too many defensive breakdowns that could have ended up in our net. We got a bit lucky, but it's about time we did. Let this be the start of a winning streak. Please.

This tactic of playing really, really bad as soon as you get a 2 goal lead is the worst idea Babcock has ever had. Surely they have to try something else in the 3rd, maybe getting a 3 goal lead and then playing really bad? Atleast we'd have more of a cushion.

I wish we could insert a 35-40 goal guy into the lineup who is also a proven playoff performer. Preferably someone with a big body and ability to take the puck to the net. A bonus would be if he had a cool nickname and did funny things like steal Kane's mouthguard. If only there was a player like that available!

Think of it this way: the original plan was for Abdelkader to play the entire season in Grand Rapids, with the occasional call-up if we got injuries. Now he has played about 50 games for us. We will probably see him in the playoffs if we get there. Either way he's gotten some very valuable NHL experience and will benefit from it in the future.

His knee is supposedly 100%. If you don't want him to re-injure himself the best thing for him to do is stop playing hockey altogether. The best thing for the Wings would be if he could play in the Olympics. Get some easy games against bad teams, then a couple of games against better teams, and maybe a semi-final and final/bronze-game against really tough opponents. Then when the NHL picks up again he would be in pretty decent shape most likely.. if he doesn't play any games until after the Olympics he might not be in any kind of shape until we have like 10 games left of the season.

The only good thing about the Wings losing games is laughing at all the terrible threads that pop up like 2 seconds after the final whistle. We're not going to be out of the playoff picture by March.

Good news is Datsyuk and Lidstrom are producing. We need them to. Bad news is there are still a number of games before the Olympic break. We could really use that break right now. Howard has to start every game for the forseeable future. Sorry Ozzie, can't afford to let you play yourself into shape. Forget about this and move on to the next game.

Yes it's just you, he's one of our better players. He's put up some good points since coming back too, but obviously still needs to learn to be more effective, shoot more and score more goals.

Is it really that hard to understand that people don't want the Wings making the playoffs to depend on them winning the last game while 2 or 3 teams in front of them lose in regulation? Also we don't really want to face San Jose or Chicago in the 1st round. We need to start winning games very, very soon and get up on solid ground.

Come on, Howard has been making ton of huge saves like that.

I missed last game but Z is looking the best I've seen him since his return from injury. Still have a ways to go before he's on the level he is supposed to be.

None of the goals were terrible but come on, you need a save on atleast one of them. I'm willing to bet Howard would have stopped the 2nd goal atleast, simply because he's bigger and covers more of the net.

Hockeystreams messed up (surprise surprise) so I wasn't able to watch the game this morning, but I saw the highlights and I can't believe the Wings dropped that lead with less than 2 minutes to go.. But good to see Lids with 2 goals, and both Pavel and Hank contributing offensively.
