As usual we need a win. Lose and we have teams closing in on us quickly from behind, win and we're right back in the mix with a bunch of teams ahead of us. Let's see Kronner spark the team. I've missed his beautiful stutter-steps on the blueline and big hits. Most of all we need something to happen offensively, and he'll help with that. 6-1 Wings.

I'd love to see Sweden vs. Russia and the first faceoff being between Fedorov and Forsberg. But I guess Forsberg will either be on the wing or back home nursing some injury.

I'm still gonna say that if we can just hang around 8th/9th and in striking range of a couple of teams above us when it's time for the olympic break we're in a good position.. then we can start on a new leaf with Franzen and hopefully everyone else back and get on a roll. But it would of course be really good if we could get a bit of a winning streak here to get in a better position before the break. We had a big chance here lately, imagine if we had won the shootouts against Chicago and Dallas, kept the 2 goal lead against the Kings and scored on our chances against the Caps. We could be in like 5th or 6th easily.

But I remember the fan-votes being completely messed up last year, leading to all kinds of mediocre players making the team over guys like Hossa, Franzen, Zetterberg etc. so I'm not sure the Wings would have had more than one. Possibly Datsyuk, atleast he SHOULD be there considering he's the king of the shootout. Personally I think the all-star game is pretty damn boring, Olympics is 100x better.

Fil only had a minute less ice-time than Pav tonight. But do you mean that Fil should have all of Pav's ice-time in addition to his own? Which would give him about 36-37 minutes per game? Can't say I believe that would be the best thing to do, but then again I'm not an armchair GM.

well atleast I picked Kings to win this one for my double-up game in the weekend picks. That's something. f***. This sucks. Wings played the first 10 and the last 5 of this game. That's not enough. Why do we play like this against the Kings? Last game was the same s***, but then Howard stood on his head. In reality, NO this game did not decide whether or not we will make the playoffs, but we need a winning streak REAL SOON.

For real, Hank and Pav need to do something. This is the moment they need to step up. We can't lose in regulation.
