I guess. So many times I sit and watch a game and think "player X is doing really well tonight!", only to check this board in the intermission and find a hundred "player X sucks and is lazy/old!!" posts. Like stepping into the twilight zone.

I'm not seeing this terrible Lidstrom you guys are.. he hasn't looked fantastic by any means, but made some nice defensive plays and been solid.
-
Numbers are nice but it does't matter when you let in 7 goals in a must-win game, 3 of the goals coming with less than 7 minutes left and your team is leading by 1.

Considering Luo choked in last year's playoffs and was one of the biggest reasons why a really good Vancouver team wasn't able to beat the young Hawks, I'm not sure we would have won more cups with him in net..
-
It should be noted that Osgood was selected for the SECOND team. Brodeur was obviously on the first team. And NHL.com also picked the top 5 teams of the decade: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=510720

Steal a point here and I'm happy. Hawks played a tough game last night so hopefully they're a bit tired this time around.
-
Wooo! I've really, really missed him out there. Although losing Hank makes it feel like we're not really gaining anything until he gets back too.
-
I think the official name is "Donald Duck & his friends" here, but people just say "Donald Duck" (Kalle Anka).
-
I think you mean "when do we get the YOUNG Lids back?".

Just skip the early round picks and pick some swedes and maybe a russian or two late in the draft. That seems to work out okay. But seriously I'd say go after someone with a bit of speed and scoring ability. Not that you can just choose "ooh we want this kind of player" and there will automatically be a good prospect like that available. But that's what I'd like. Defensemen are usually easier to acquire via trade or free agency, and more difficult to develop.

Haha yeah I agree actually. But Abby did make Kane look pretty stupid there, Daniels hit the nail on the head with his comment.

I wake up to see that yes, the Detroit Red Griffins did indeed lose, like any sane person expected them to when playing on the 2nd night of a back-to-back against maybe the best team in the league, and as usual this board goes absolutely bananas and wants to trade everyone. But trying to be on-topic, it looked like Ozzie let in some weak goals last night. I'm sad to see that it seems he just can't get it done in the regular season anymore. Hopefully he's still got another great playoff run in him though.

I didn't like the hit. Elbow to the head. It can be debated if it was intentional or not, but watching the replays made me cringe.

Expect both Hossa and Kopecky to score against us, like all former Red Wings seem to do. Honestly we shouldn't be able to win against them right now. We have a 2nd line of Leino-Abdelkader-Eaves. But if we can steal one of the games I'm happy.

He has his charm and is more entertaining than most color guys in the business. I do get tired of his rants about modern sticks or the officiating though.

Goaltending is a hot topic among most fanbases.. go into a Rangers forum and you'll find threads about how Lundqvist (.920 SV%, 2.50GAA) has to step his game up and I'm sure Vancouver fans were going crazy earlier in the season when Luongo was struggling. Just be happy we don't have to deal with Vesa Toskala.

No secondary scoring = difficult to win. We can't count on Miller, Eaves and other 3rd/4th liners to chip in goals every other game. Datsyuk and Bert were awesome though.. I hope this was the turning point for Pav, we need him to play like this every game while Z is out for us to even have a chance. Really wanted a point from this game, but I can't be upset that we didn't get it.. we should have gotten a few more PP's though. Now the games against Chicago become even more important.

I don't think Howard has been that bad. None of the goals were overly soft. He was bound to have a game where he got some bad puck luck eventually, all goalies do.
-
Crap crap crap.
-
Bert is awesome lately. Not much of a redirection but we'll take it! Pav really needed a goal.
-
Datsyuk has been awesome so far.
-
Abby, Janik, Newbury? Then you have Miller, Eaves and Meech, none of whom would have been playing on a consistant basis if we had a healthy team.

And the cereal with whiskey.

Keating...

Wow, great work by Bert! Nice goal.
