If we can split against the Hawks and BJ's and win against the Stars I'm more than happy considering the amount of players we have injured. We don't need to take giant leaps up in the standings as long as we don't slide down too much.

I don't believe in that "first 8 teams to make it to 38 points make the playoffs"-theory at all. Maybe it was true last year, but more than anything it's just an indication that the teams who play good in the first half of the season often play good in the 2nd half as well. Some teams have 35 games played, some 31. Because of the schedule, some teams will get to 38 points faster than others, despite maybe not winning more games. The West is really sick this year.. no bad teams at all. Meanwhile, the East sucks. I don't see any team except MAYBE the Caps being a threat to the Penguins third straight finals appearance.

I miss the days when Phoenix was a bad team that we should easily win against. Can we extend our winning streak to 3?? Maybe. Guessing it will be another close game, maybe OT.

Yes.. olympics are once every 4 years, players want to participate and it's fun as hell to watch. Besides, not everyone is going. Most of our team is resting.

I agree he's got no chance of making the team, but honestly with the way Stuart has been playing this year I'd take him over half the guys on that list. Green for example is not much better than Lebda defensively. Stuart choking in the biggest game of his life probably doesn't increase his chances of making an Olympic team, where it's all about playing at your very best in a couple of knock-out games.

Huge win. Kinda wished we could have taken it in regulation in order to not give the Preds that loser point, but who cares. Two straight now. Ozzie looked solid, made some great stops. Bert, what can you say? I'm not gonna go crazy and say he's gonna score 30 goals, but if he can keep some of the confidence he has now he should atleast be able to be that 20 goal guy we need him to be. Good game overall by the Wings. If it wasn't for Pekka Rinne this would have been a blowout win.

It feels like we're in the playoffs and every game is a must-win. And we're not even halfway into the season. But honestly, considering we played the night before I'd gladly take a point tonight.

Datsyuk is like 4 out of 5 in SO's this season, it's been pretty much the one area where he's been performing up to expectations.

Good to see some questioned players contribute tonight. Meech and Ericsson saving a goal early in the game, Lebda, Bert and Leino being involved in the Wings goals. Team played really good in the 3rd. Splitting up Hank and Pav really seems like the thing to do right now.. we can't load up everything on one line. Important win. Every game feels huge at the moment. Every point we can collect during this time of adversity and injury will help make the climb easier when we do finally start getting our guys back.
